In reference to the HuffPo article discussing Chuck’s Hebrew name:
Well, my Yiddish and Hebrew aren’t up to any scholarly discussion but here is a word that really applies to the Senator. Pascundyak—-more or less means scoundrel, has a flavor of seedy and greedy .
Barack on the other hand we all know means Blessed. Indeed. Same root word in Arabic and Hebrew and Yiddish.
Dannystix what a face. Looks like you have been in the water and rolling around in the sand. Just like you should. Did you get Chips a little sandy too.? It’s the thing to do at the c side. Nice to hear from you. Have a good vacation.
“As a political outsider, Trump has the freedom to say or do almost anything. While every other Republican on stage Thursday night made an effort to demonstrate their conservative bona fides, justifying this or that heresy by invoking the Bill of Rights or the memory of the sainted Ronald Reagan, Trump had no compunction about breaking with ideological orthodoxy. When asked about his past support for a Canadian-style single-payer health system, Trump didn’t back down. Instead of repudiating his past position, or apologizing for it, he said that “as far as single-payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland. It could have worked in a different age, which is the age you’re talking about here.” Why didn’t Trump reverse himself? It could be that he recognizes that there are many GOP voters who are just as passionate about defending Medicare as they are about protecting America’s borders, and that the prospect of Medicare-for-all might not faze them. Or it could be that he realizes that the forces that have pushed him to the top of the GOP primary fight are far bigger than just the Republican Party, and he need not toe the line to keep his candidacy alive.”

And, Yes You Built It …
Good day TOD! Been away so not sure what all has been posted but this is an excellent article re: Schumer and Bibi’s other minions in Congress and their long term goal for the ME.
“The “nuclear aspects” are the substance of the agreement. That is why they call it the nuclear deal. But no, for Netanyahu and Schumer what offends is the prospect of Iran’s re-entry into the global community as a trading partner and a non-nuclear regional power of some resourcefulness. This emergence can only curb Israel’s wish to dominate for another half century as it has done for the past half century. That, and not anything resembling an “existential threat,” is the real transition at issue.”
If Schumer takes over after Reid retires, I will never again give a dime to the DSCC in light of this betrayal. Really hope that Durbin or Murphy get a shot at the leadership spot.
Economic power, racism, interference in the running of our country by AIPAC. Lobbyists will be funding the 2016 Democratic convention, as announced by DWS. A big bad mush.
Hellllloooooooooo DannyStix!! You look like you’re having a GRAND time in the sand and water. HOORAY!! Please be nice to your mum and tell her we love her and miss her. XOXO
“When scientists declared in March 2015 that El Niño conditions had developed in the Pacific Ocean, the consensus was that the event was too weak and too late to have much effect on North America. But in the past several months, warm water has been sloshing from the western Pacific toward the Americas and El Niño has strengthened. Surface waters have grown significantly warmer in the central and eastern Pacific, and conditions have become somewhat cooler and drier in the west. By the end of July 2015, scientists at NASA and other agencies started to see some similarities between current conditions and the development of the potent El Niño event of 1997–98.
“We have not seen a signal like this in the tropical Pacific since 1997,” said Bill Patzert, a climatologist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. “It’s no sure bet that we will have a strong El Niño, but the signal is getting stronger. What happens in August through October should make or break this event.”
The maps on this page provide NASA’s view of Pacific Ocean conditions. At the top of the page, you can see snapshots of the averaged sea surface height anomalies at four different moments since March 2015. Shades of red indicate where the ocean stood above normal sea level because warmer water expands to fill more volume (thermal expansion). Shades of blue show where sea level and temperatures were lower than average (thermal contraction). Normal sea-level conditions appear in white. The maps are based on altimetry measurements made by the OSTM/Jason-2 satellite and analyzed by scientists at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Below you can see an animation of the same data from January 1 through July 31, 2015. Note how pulses of warmer water seem to move from west to east across the Pacific basin. There is a subtle signal in January, and then increasingly stronger pulses in March, May, and July.”

In case you don’t want to read all of it, the bottom line re: US West Coast drought …
“And even if the rains come, they do not necessarily solve drought problems in areas that rely on snow pack for summer supplies. “It took a long time to get into this drought,” Patzert added, “and it is more of a systemic problem than just a lack of rain or snowfall.””
Interesting. Right… temperature and rainfall matter. Here in Pacific NW our water storage is in snowpack in the mountains. If it doesn’t get cold enough the water doesn’t get stored.
I have a straight shot of Mt Rainier from our rooftop garden, and it is kind of frightening to see what should be snowpack slowly disappearing up the lower flanks. I’ve been watching all summer, every night, as the light changes, and it’s becoming quite eerie with little to no rain coming in. Forecasts for rain are constantly changed, and we had August heat back in June. Cloudy now, good wind, no moisture.
True Bob, but we will take the rain and hopefully the snow on the mountains from November to February. We sorely need it. It won’t be a sure-all, but a start nonetheless.
{{{{{ DannyO’Stix & CIC~TOD }}}}} Outta here youse twose, get back to the beach, and no more lurking. We are not planning a party when the hits reach 32M. So, chill out!! (we miss you, but NW and other bt’s are coping well). <3
Bernie is not a very gifted political leader if he doesn’t know how to engage with #BlackLivesMatter. Has he ever heard the words “coalition building” ?
Bernie has had weeks to figure this out. In fact, he’s had years since he contemplated running for POTUS to expand his understanding of what it means to be POTUS. His tunnel vision is actually shocking to me.
He doesn’t believe in trade deals IN PRINCIPLE. WTF?!?!? He’s clueless about the existential issues with guns in this country. Every American problem is solved by 50’s style unions? Hey, I believe in unions big time, but unions are not the cure of all of America’s ills.
Anyone who cannot adjust quickly to the reality of the campaign issues is not fit to be POTUS.
Zero.
Why?
Many have been pushing back on his No Vote idiocy and like a scary cat, he has ran up a tree and he is currently hiding. It will be interesting how he manages to climb back down without some rescuing.
I explain why the fate of the #IranDeal is probably not in US Congress's hands.http://t.co/YclP5y531h @lrozen @ThePlumLineGS @SuzanneNossel

“If we turn to the text of the JCPOA itself, what is clear is that, while full implementation of the deal does require lifting of US sanctions that are under Congressional authority, the JCPOA and the related UN Security Council resolution remain fully valid, even if Congress disapproves the deal and refuses to lift those sanctions within its control. There is no provision in the JCPOA that would allow other parties, including Iran, to withdraw from the deal or not to perform their commitments, should the US Congress fail to lift sanctions. On the contrary, explicit language in the JCPOA foresees the possibility that, despite best efforts, the US might fail to achieve full implementation of its commitments. Annex V of the JCPOA makes it clear that the sanctions-relief measures expected of the United States on Implementation Day, when the IAEA has verified that Iran has taken a defined set of actions to alter its nuclear program, are those that are “pursuant to Presidential authorities.”(Annex V, B 11) As far as further actions by the United States, in terms of other sanctions to be lifted later, once Iran has fully implemented the deal, what the US has specifically committed to is seeking legislative action to lift the sanctions in question (JCPOA, 23). “The United States will make best efforts in good faith to sustain this JCPOA” (JCPOA, 26). In sum, even if Congress prevents the US from fully implementing its specific sanction-lifting commitments, the JCPOA can still go forward.
clip
Here, Security Council resolution 2231 is of key importance. Once the IAEA determines that Iran has done the required actions in modifying its nuclear program that are specified in the JCPOA, we have “Implementation Day” and the previous Security Council sanctions resolutions are terminated. The trigger for that is the IAEA determination: it is essentially out of the hands of the parties, including the United States. So after implementation day, UN Members are basically under no further UN-based obligation to impose nuclear-related sanctions on Iran.”
VC…..thank you. When I saw the Dannystix GQ pose…….I thought Snow…..for I saw powdered snow on his face and on the ground.
Hello Danny. You are looking Great. I am sure that Lady Chips is looking mighty Fine as you.
I’d guess Chips has been rolling around in the snow - remember she was a bit envious of 99TS’ cool weather not too long before she took off (and didn’t wait for me). :D
MY final comment on AIPAC for this weekend, at least.
If the GOP wins everything AIPAC wins.
If an AIPAC friendly Senator controls the (D) Senate, AIPAC wins.
If (D) loses the Senate and House, again—you guessed it AIPAC wins. Do you still think the 2014 (D) loss was an accident? The “distancing” somehow just happened?
I have been sounding this alarm for quite some time.
The guest editorial in our paper today, written by an ordained bishop in the Church of God. He is also a professor at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN. This piece is wonderfully clear, concise and thoughtful. He weaves in his history and our country’s history and brings it “home” to the present.
It isn’t long but very well worth the few short minutes it takes to read.

#ChristianTaylor was absolutely murdered and police are now caught in clear lies to cover it up.
I’ll break it down next…
1. 3 different employees at the dealership who saw the security videos said that #ChristianTaylor WAS NOT & DID NOT attempt to steal a car.
2. The videos from the car dealership and the police dispatch audio show that the officer who killed #ChristianTaylor LIED about a scuffle.
3. #ChristianTaylor appeared to be at the car dealership IN HIS OWN VEHICLE – potentially just looking at cars on the lot for sale.
4. The officer who shot and killed #ChristianTaylor shot him in just 1.3 seconds of seeing him. No scuffle ever happened. At all. Lies.
5. You HAVE to listen to the police dispatch. It’s full of lies and misstatement after misstatement. Clusterfuck.
Shaun King @ShaunKing 1h1 hour ago
Employees of the car dealership where #ChristianTaylor was killed are saying his truck went through the store window AFTER HE WAS SHOT.
To protest is part of our political discourse.
I disliked and hated it whenever protesters disrupted the POTUS, FLOTUS or when the Teabaggers in AZ/OK and in NH/ME at POTUS’ events wearing guns.
I was livid when Lady Gaga did her protesting singing before a large crowd in DC calling out Pres Obama. I was PO’ed when that idiot tried to shout POTUS down in the WH.
Dreamers, LGBTQ Activists and Environmentalists have used tactics that I would call offensive……..but in a Democratic Republic, with the support of the Constitution………..Freedom of speech and expression have a two-way street…..those using it would have the accept the costs……..Pro or Con.
The BLM is protesting as a way of finding their way into the conversation of those running for office….BS is not interested in having this conversation…so the meme that is developing is that the BLM folks are disrespectful…or worse…paid for by the HRC campaign…today Sanders left the stage and put out a statement….
check out his statement…he made it about himself…
.@BernieSanders issues statement expressing disappointment in being shutdown today by #BlackLivesMatter in Seattle. pic.twitter.com/LJg98DTyKm
Sen Sanders needs to learn that the more he acts like this, showing disdain, issuing press releases, threatening to leave, etc he is showing Thin-skinned as an elected Officer before a public forum or gathering……….He is inviting more protesters. This will Not end well. He doesn’t want for his supporters and the protesters to clash. This will undoubtedly bring in the Police, the last thing his campaign and those protesting before his events would want.
Sen Sanders should learn from Pres Obama’s way of dealing with protesters.
In our form of Democratic Republic, protesting is a VIRTUE.
As a Liberal and Progressive, shouldn’t he have shown more respect for the protesters - addressed their grievances with his plan of action (which he’s had plenty of time to develop) or agreed to meet with them privately later? They are not Tea Party GOPers disrupting for the sake of it. They are people who want to make their voices heard within their own party! That’s why they aren’t showing up at GOP events. They KNOW black lives don’t matter to most of the GOP, but they SHOULD matter to every Democratic candidate, and not just in a dismissive “yeah, yeah, I know but don’t worry, I’ve got this-white guy knows best” kind of way. I didn’t know much about Sanders before; he was an independent who mostly voted with us but sometimes not, a pretty traditional socialist with a history in the Civil Rights movement. I confess I am shocked at his responses to these situations. basically, brushing off deep, existential concerns of people in his own party. Concerns that are highlighted almost weekly in the news as one more “white police vs black anybody” fatality occurs. Am I wrong in thinking that he’s taking all these different Democratic subgroups (the Obama Coalition) for granted and is focusing on peeling off working class white (male) voters from the GOP? If so, it’s not only offensive, but seems to me to be a losing strategy. I think there will have to be much more of a cultural shift for that to happen. (I am not a very deep or profound political thinker, let it be said.) And what does this mean for his appointments in a putative Sanders presidency? Will he continue President Obama’s moves to diversify top government positions - (and not just for diversity’s sake, but to appoint people with the lived experience necessary to understand the issues they will be dealing with)? Or will he not see the need? I understand that Hillary Clinton has taken steps to diversify her campaign, and whether or not that is sheer political calculus (and I don’t believe that it is), at least it shows that she understands the need to appear to listen and respond. I believe on this issue she is more liberal than he is.
Dannystix and Chipster…hope you both are having a blissful time at the shore:) Wish I was covered in sand like that, Danny…(then I would be at the beach…where I belong)
2 weeks over Christmas and past New Year’s…that’s a loooooooong way away! It just seems to me that we get out later and go back earlier each and every year….
We start after Labor Day. Because it’s so late this year we’ll be getting out around June 20th. We have two weeks at Christmas, and a February week break (which may disappear in order to get out earlier) and an April week break. I remember years ago when we vacationed in Virginia, that those schools did not have an Easter break and started earlier so they could get out before things got really hot. Does your school do something similar or do you just have more days altogether than ours?
Sanders was to busy bragging about his expected crowds of over 10k at each event this weekend. Instead, he should have been studying how to address “Black Lives Matter”.
Frankly though, I really don’t like when protesters or whatever stripe are pushy and rude. Doesn’t seem like a productive way to achieve your goal. IMO obstreperous behaviour skewers the discussion; it puts your target in a position to be the one sympathized with and your target issue becomes somewhat sidelined. That’s how I see it anyway. [Of course, I’m a bit of a coward when people start shouting and being irrational; it’s one reason I don’t do crowds.]
I’m not big on crowds either, VC. However, Senator Sanders could have easily avoided these confrontations by both his words and actions. That hasn’t happened.
BTW, claiming a 10K crowd in City Center is silly. My wife was on errands and walked through the park and estimated maybe 1K folk.
Well. Bobfr, he may garner a large crowd and be bombastic and full of himself, but let’s face it, Sanders is no leader! You are right he could have better prepared himself (and not with the silly argument that he’s been at the forefront of civil rights for 50+ years) since he has encountered them before. However, if BLM continue to use this approach I suspect it will hurt their cause more than it will hurt Sanders.
When you are quiet and lady like you are ignored….
there have been 546 folks that have been killed by police in 2015….
how quiet and polite should they be…and besides…Sanders is not interested in the BLM….he has dismissed racism as some secondary issue to the issue of class…
this clashing will continue…because folks are not going to be ignored by a man who claims that he wants to be President
This is not meant as a confrontation, Pf; I want to try and understand.
Don’t you think that the movement might be better served if they find a path between quiet and ladylike and loud and in-your-face? Yes, Sanders is not interested and has dismissed racism so I don’t get how this current path will help. There must be another way they can position themselves so that Sanders, AND the other candidates, can see them, and hear them, without shutting down the entire process. Wait until question time? Send him their questions earlier and indicate they’ll be present for an answer? Be a silent presence with lots of signs that can’t be missed? I don’t know; what I do know is that the deliberate in-your-face clashing strikes me as a sure way to be brushed aside further.
I guess we will see how it all unfolds since we are in the early stages of the election season. Who knows, maybe the BLM movement’s approach will work - right now I don’t see how, but I’m often wrong.
I’m not sure I am doing a good job explaining how I see this, PF. I *am* incensed by how thoughtlessly and effortlessly police have been killing Blacks, and I believe this is a vitally important issue that needs to be addressed….yesterday. However, I am uneasy about the way some characters in BLM have chosen to highlight the problem. Though the 60s movement was seen as disruptive (and it was), I’m not sure I would draw a parallel between the two. To my mind one was disruptive in that it drew the country’s attention by its ‘quiet’ intensity and persistence. BLM currently is disruptive….because it’s disruptive. They may say/think they want to draw attention to the issue of police brutality to Blacks, but in the case of BLM vs Sanders, I’d say they are not accomplishing *that* goal.
Also, I’m wondering - ‘Why isn’t BLM focusing attention on all declared candidates?’ Have I missed their confrontation with the others?
“Don’t you think that the movement might be better served if they find a path between quiet and ladylike and loud and in-your-face?”
Please read your statement again and ask yourself if these sanctioned mass murders of human beings were happening to people who are not in the minority group would you feel the same. just curious.
I think I would feel the same, NoSpin; FTR I am myself a member of the minority group. I too have been gut-punched by some of the stories that have been shared here. I have been rendered speechless by the callousness I’ve seen dished out to unarmed Black citizens, and enraged by the verdicts that murderers have received. I’m not suggesting the group not protest. I just don’t now see the effectiveness of getting into the face of Sanders, or any other politician or yelling your head off on stage the way I saw it done on the Netroots video. It strikes me as negative and unproductive confrontation that’s more likely to lead to a yelling match, and while that might relieve the feelings of those yelling, I don’t see it doing much for Black lives.
VC, I’m not a member of the minority group - so take these comments for what they are worth. I think there could be other methods of demonstration that would draw attention and be less disruptive, Standing on boxes with sign, tape across their mouths or something simliar. But perhaps they are after a different effect. As far as I’ve heard, they are not disrupting GOP rallies. I’d think this is because they know that black lives don’t and won’t matter to most GOPers. If they are not at Clinton rallies, perhaps it’s because they don’t feel as blocked out by her. Perhaps they are at Sanders rallies because they see his big numbers and his appeal to white liberal and not so liberal people. Some may be turned off by their tactics, probably people who would need more convincing about black lives mattering-the kind who kept saying “It’s not time yet” to Martin Luther King. However others may have their eyes opened to how Sanders 1. how Sanders will treat these important society trends, people who do believe that black lives matter but are blinded by his wonderful ‘liberalism’, and 2. how inflexible and slow-thinking he is in responding to unexpected situations, Doesn’t make him look presidential at all. He can’t even make a joke or even get insulting the way Christie would (which wouldn’t appeal to me, but does to some). Even after one bad experience he has not taken the time to prepare for another possible situation, he just bulls ahead. That may open the eyes of some blind supporters. So for that reason, making these more than silent protests and questions at question time, may be a more effective tactic. I think that in general the #BLM people have behaved reasonably, I think their apology is significant, and I also think the fact that they responded the same way to the killing of that innocent white boy in the same way as they have to police murders of black people is very telling.
Appreciate you adding your take, Maryl. I haven’t seen the apology so not sure what it said. I do think Sanders is no portion of a leader; I’ve felt so since he started to spout his rhetoric by asking what has he *done* in all his years in Congress. I like him the same way I like Warren ….not - all talk and little or no action. However, I very deeply want the BLM to succeed in (one of?) its goal - to get the BLM message solidly on the table. Put simply, my *problem* with the noisy confrontational approach is that I do believe it risks sabotaging the number of eyes that could be opened to Sanders’ unpreparedness to lead the **united** states of America.
Like I’ve said before…Ole Bernie’s campaign is so like Ole man Ron Paul…he drew large crowds too….but what did it get him??? Besides every issue Bernie talks about our President has either talked about or already did it…He so wants to copy BARACK OBAMA…doesn’t he know there can only be one…and that’s PRESIDENT BARACK H. OBAMA…he cannot be duplicated!!!
Yep. I don’t like it either because it always falls back on PBO. And his safety is my absolute first priority. I think BLM, my baby sisters and brothers need to develop a more constructive way to engage candidates, I do not support Bernie Sanders and the chances of him being Presidengt are slim to none. President Obama would have stayed and done what he had to do even if he had to delay to take care of the business at hand. Bernie can’t handle the pressure. It’s not like going to an MSNBC studio and talking trash about PBO or taking the same shit to the senate floor. When you are in the people’s domain which is the community you have to figure out a way to engage. As someone on medicare and social security I would have been interested to hear how he sees implementing PBO’s next stage HC policies. A final thought. Bernie is 72 years old, has lived in Vermont almost his entire adult life. While he philosophically believes in racial equality, he may not understand what it means to confront the issues or to engage the people who are affected. Further, Bernie hasn’t reached out to the BLM activists to make them partners. He and his people just don’t know how to do that.
‘While he philosophically believes in racial equality, he may not understand what it means to confront the issues or to engage the people who are affected.’
I’d say you hit the nail on the head here, Idon. I think he thinks he simply needs to tell BLM how long *he* has been on the ‘forefront of the civil rights movement’ - whatever the heck that means to him, it sure doesn’t mean the same to them.
thank you VC. I’m watching a Norm Chomsky 3 hour interview and discussion from 2014. The one thing that caught my ear was his reference to Edward Bernay’s book titled Propaganda written in 1928.
Bernie hasn’t reached out to the BLM activists to make them partners. He and his people just don’t know how to do that.
************************
They do not want to…it is not important to them…however they tell blk folks how they should behave and to be polite…and to just wait in the corner till we call you…
“Beauty is truth - truth, beauty”. I read an analysis of this line from Keats that I think expresses it’s meaning well: “it is a very abstract way of saying that in truth and beauty alike; there is an elegant quality and a sense that yes indeed this is right. Something so beautiful that in it we see all that is true and pure. Likewise when thought reaches the stage of absolute undeniable truth then it usually carries with it a mental imagery that is beautiful.” This poem has that kind of truth- it is an arrow shot to the heart, exquisite and painful.
idon, you forget one important detail.. POTUS and his family have security detail. Everyone else are sitting ducks. I could care less how this falls back on POTUS as folks are dealing with this daily, how the msm chooses to spin this is the least of my concern on this issue.
I’m hearing The Bern is getting his butt kicked in Seattle today by the #blacklivesmatter activists. Seattle is riled up because of SHellNo, and arctic drilling, no good to mess around with us. (I’m not there in the physical, but I am there in the Spirit)
As I said two weeks ago, base Republican voters are not choosing a president. They’re choosing an rebel leader who will lead an insurgent war against what they view as an increasingly dominant liberal consensus aided and abetted by establishment Republicans.
Now, that seems like crazy talk to progressives who are pulling their hair out over government inaction in the face of existential crises like record wealth inequality, climate change and the reality of technological unemployment. But to the Republican base, the world seems to be spinning ever more off kilter: a black man was elected and re-elected to the Oval Office, a hated woman seems likely to follow him, gays can marry in the Deep South even as Confederate flags are coming down, the Middle East continues to be a problem no matter how many bombs we drop on it, the urbanization and secularization of America continues apace, and the country is only getting browner and more liberal with each and every passing day. And just like progressives, conservative blue-collar voters are keenly aware of the shrinking of the middle class—they just choose to scapegoat immigrants and “regulations,” rather than question their just-world-fallacy value system byactually looking at where all the money went.
For Republicans, this is an existential identity crisis and threat to their entire way of life. And they’re reacting in kind, by supporting the loudest, angriest, most virile and belligerent voice in the room. Right now, that’s Donald Trump.
The Republican base isn’t looking for specific policy fixes. They’re looking for a cultural warrior and savior who will put the last 60 years of progress back in a bottle and give them their country back.
Very well put. And in a sense, it seems that the Sanders supporters are doing the same thing: looking for a cultural warrior and savior who will make all their rainbow unicorn wishes come true. And he’s white.
“The sham trial of Jason Rezaian, The Washington Post’s correspondent in Tehran, may now finally be nearing its end. Jason’s lawyer, Leila Ahsan, has been told that closed-door proceedings will resume on Monday in Iran’s Revolutionary Court, and that this will be the final hearing before a verdict is reached.
This is a critical moment. Iran has behaved unconscionably throughout this travesty of a case. It has imprisoned an innocent journalist for more than a year and subjected him to physical mistreatment and psychological abuse.”

I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Mary Engelbreit’s work as a children’s book illustrator and designer of home decor. She deserves some love for this. Apparently she is taking a lot of heat from former fans who dislike her standing in agreement with the BLM movement. http://www.buzzfeed.com/ariannarebolini/illustrator-is-getting-hate-for-her-anti-racist-art?utm_term=.xww1NanRG#.eq0dM5jp9

Thank you HF.
Yes I am upset about AIPAC and what I see as an ugly assault on PBO.
It is racist. As much as it is warmongering and money.
and in my book, “Obama” is Yiddish for mensch.
Actually Barack Obama is a mensch in any language.
Hi Chica enjoy ze surf n sand. Envy ya.
Hiya Queen Chips and Prince Danny! Enjoy your visit to the sea. Come back refreshed and fight-ready! We miss ya!

“Why Donald Trump Isn’t Going Away”

Looks like his ball landed in the woods. I wouldn’t mind being there as his caddy (in the woods) of course. LOL :-)
Looks like you are having fun Danny! Take care of the Chipstah! :-)

Yep the fight is about economic power
Patty Murray is the one. She is dynamic, and she is real.
She needs some new tennis shoes for her leadership run….YES
Economic power, racism, interference in the running of our country by AIPAC. Lobbyists will be funding the 2016 Democratic convention, as announced by DWS. A big bad mush.
Hellllloooooooooo DannyStix!! You look like you’re having a GRAND time in the sand and water. HOORAY!! Please be nice to your mum and tell her we love her and miss her. XOXO

El Nino 2015 latest info (real science, btw) ….

Thanks for this interesting update Bob. El Niño is an incredible phenom.
Happy to provide it, vetivera!
Interesting. Right… temperature and rainfall matter. Here in Pacific NW our water storage is in snowpack in the mountains. If it doesn’t get cold enough the water doesn’t get stored.
YUP!
What a super foto of Danny. Enjoy the sand and surf both of you!
I notice every news media outlet (including in Australia) is writing up Erick Erickson as a man supporting women & running important republican event!

Is Bernie Sanders afraid of black people?
it is not just Sanders…
and this ,,,
Bernie is not a very gifted political leader if he doesn’t know how to engage with #BlackLivesMatter.
So true …
What Sunday show is Chuck Schumer going to be on?
Zero.
Why?
Many have been pushing back on his No Vote idiocy and like a scary cat, he has ran up a tree and he is currently hiding. It will be interesting how he manages to climb back down without some rescuing.
REALLY Important ….
One portion …
clip
I will bet no member of Congress has read this, nor anyone in the national media circus.
I’d never take that bet, Bill!! :)
 shock: You went looking for snow…..in August????!!!!
*That* does not look like any seaside I’ve ever seen, DannyO! Seems to me CC is trying to trick you, you poor thing!

Holy shit.
I’ll ask again…what da phuq is a 49 year old doing being a ROOKIE on a Police Department?

Hello Danny! Say Hello to Lady Chipsticks ;)
The BLM is protesting as a way of finding their way into the conversation of those running for office….BS is not interested in having this conversation…so the meme that is developing is that the BLM folks are disrespectful…or worse…paid for by the HRC campaign…today Sanders left the stage and put out a statement….
check out his statement…he made it about himself…
this will not end well
BTW, do people “invite” candidates to speak? I thought their campaign managers/team just chose venues to share their spiel.
Chips will be washing sand out of Danny (and her furniture, and her carpet) until her NEXT vacation. Enjoy!
Just peaking in:) Has this been posted already? :)
Dannystix and Chipster…hope you both are having a blissful time at the shore:) Wish I was covered in sand like that, Danny…(then I would be at the beach…where I belong)
Df, I believe I saw you mention ‘work’ yesterday - are Arizona schools back in session *already*?
They are indeed! Some go year ’round….we start with the kiddos on Monday. Crazy, huh?
Geez louise!, I sure don’t envy you! Does this mean you get a big break (like a week or two) BEFORE Christmas, or during December?
2 weeks over Christmas and past New Year’s…that’s a loooooooong way away! It just seems to me that we get out later and go back earlier each and every year….
OMGawd, that *is* a long way away! There is a holiday before Thanksgiving, right? Or some teacher professional activity days, or *something*?
We start after Labor Day. Because it’s so late this year we’ll be getting out around June 20th. We have two weeks at Christmas, and a February week break (which may disappear in order to get out earlier) and an April week break. I remember years ago when we vacationed in Virginia, that those schools did not have an Easter break and started earlier so they could get out before things got really hot. Does your school do something similar or do you just have more days altogether than ours?
Back to the drawing board, Bern ….
He obviously did not study the demographics of King County ….
Sanders was to busy bragging about his expected crowds of over 10k at each event this weekend. Instead, he should have been studying how to address “Black Lives Matter”.
Live in King County and can say it’s plenty diverse. Something Sanders has had a problem with for some time now.
^5 ^5. They still think Seattle is full of sleepyheads. Wake ’em up!!
I have to find the link but it seems that BLM aplogized to the City of Seattle and to Sanders
If they did, that’s a start, IMO. They’ll make more of an impact I think, if they confront candidates rationally and ‘maturely’ [like PBO ;) ].
Can they NOT see the 546 folks who have been killed by police terror…
they have seen it …but it does not matter to them…
these confrontations will continue to happen…
I guess we will see how it all unfolds since we are in the early stages of the election season. Who knows, maybe the BLM movement’s approach will work - right now I don’t see how, but I’m often wrong.
it is not a case of it working…Sanders will not include the issues of police terror in him campaign…
history tells us…the Civil Rights activists of the 60s were seen as rabble rousers…and discontents…they were not seen favorably….
” It strikes me as negative and unproductive confrontation ”
then our definitions of negative and unproductive confrontation in light of the issue and Sander’s consistent response is vastly different.
250+ years of oppression is long enough. Personally I think it is way past time for talking to anyone. No more cheeks left to turn.
“Senator Sanders could have easily avoided these confrontations by both his words and actions. That hasn’t happened”
They do not want to…it is not important to them…however they tell blk folks how they should behave and to be polite…and to just wait in the corner till we call you…
Yes and AA millenials a highly sophisticated and smart group are not going to sit and wait. It reminds me of Nikki Giovanni’s All I Gotta Do
This is what i think of…
I, Too, Sing America by Langston Hughes
I, too, sing America.
I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,
I’ll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody’ll dare
Say to me,
“Eat in the kitchen,”
Then.
Besides,
They’ll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed-
I, too, am America.

Hi Dannystix!& Chips! I hope you are enjoying yourselves on your vacation.
An explanation about Trump and the GOP
Who is the author, Rikyrah? Wouldn’t mind casting my peepers on the rest of this.
Thanks, vc…me too:)
David Atkins @ Washington Monthly and he could not be more accurate!!! Thank you rikyrah!!!
TY, Bfr.
This is spot on, rikyrah! Perfectly said.
rikyrah, whoever wrote that makes sense, because supporting Donald Trump does not make any sense.
Very well put. And in a sense, it seems that the Sanders supporters are doing the same thing: looking for a cultural warrior and savior who will make all their rainbow unicorn wishes come true. And he’s white.
New post.

Danny,
One of your girlfriends is waiting for you down the beach…. >^..^<
Hope you and your mom are having a lovely time!
More at the link ….
I think he will be on his way home, soon ….
Hopefully!
i agree. notice you don’t hear the wingnuts linking this to the IranDeal anymore. PBO is a master, a genius.
Indeed he is, idon.
Danny looks like he is enjoying the vacation. I hope that our Chips is doing the same. Love you. Chips and Danny. HZ
See Danny is having a good time, hope you are having a fab time too Chips! By the way is this Danny causing havoc?

I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Mary Engelbreit’s work as a children’s book illustrator and designer of home decor. She deserves some love for this. Apparently she is taking a lot of heat from former fans who dislike her standing in agreement with the BLM movement. http://www.buzzfeed.com/ariannarebolini/illustrator-is-getting-hate-for-her-anti-racist-art?utm_term=.xww1NanRG#.eq0dM5jp9
It reminds me of Norman Rockwell’s iconic painting, “The Problem We All Live With”.
Please click on the link to see the very moving painting she did, and another painting which is her response to the haters. I don’t konw how to post a picture directly, or I would.
