It’s pathetic isn’t it that 18-20 months is not considered as enough of a time while canada, india, australia, uk and many other democracies campaign for 3 months at the max.

      Safe travels, BobFr.

Appalling that the “original” democracy is now held captive to process — meaning $$$ and MSM.

Can’t help but think that @DrBiden is nothing but relieved.

It has to hurt to see all the lies and smears hurled by GOP and MSM with equal abandon. @FLOTUS has to deal with this, along with the smears hurled at her and her children.

Joe Biden will not be silent, he will keep Dem candidates true to Dem values (not triangulation and 1990s political operations).

Had to bring this over from last thread. It’s from Hopefruit2

“Don’t you dare run a campaign that attempts to erase PBO’s legacy; don’t you dare try to “distance” yourself from him, and pretend that the last 8 years didn’t happen or were inadequate or a failure; Don’t you dare think that you can win an election by trying to court the bigotry or anti-Obama emprog vote and throwing our current POTUS under the bus in the process.”

The only thing I can say to this is ,”Are You Listening Hillary?”

the great thing about this country and this blog is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. HRC stands for absolutely nothing. She goes wherever the wind blows and where the dollars reside. I cannot believe the level of effort that went in to make sure the democratic field for the presidency remained as small as possible. A great disservice to PO and all he has accomplished.

I have no confidence that HRC will not be the first in line to “undo” everything POTUS has accomplished.

At least this update from VPOTUS pushed me to make my first donation to O’Malley and reach out to help in his campaign.

Nena, this tweet is 100 percent fact. President Obama does not want us to throw his legacy away by staying home on election day because that’s the same as voting Republican. A fully rightwing Supreme Court is the end of the US-period. There won’t be any recovery in another presidential cycle because it will be too late by then. I care too much for my children and grandchild to wish on them the hellish world of a Republican presidency. HRC won’t be perfect, but she is one hell of a sight better than ANY Republican.

Not voting is a vote for President Trump. And the destruction of the Supreme Court which will lead to a full-out destruction of the country. It’s not about you. It’s about the country.

              October 21, 2025 at 3:09 pm

This is not Republican “politics as usual.” We have NEVER seen this much destructive power in the nation’s history. It is that dire and any Democrat who isn’t in love with a candidate and doesn’t vote, owns the consequences. I’m normally more careful with how I word things, but I am seeing this attitude all over Twitter and I’ve been fighting back all day. This HAS to stop.

        October 21, 2025 at 3:56 pm

Right on, Dudette. I’m afraid we’re all acting the way Republicans want us to act-taking our marbles and going home. We’ve got a Senate to win and as many House seats as possible as well as the presidency. I refuse concede one inch to the most destructive political party in history.

        • 81 nathkatun7
          October 22, 2025 at 3:04 am

Yes, indeed, Dudette! But even more important, we need Democrats who will embrace, and run, on the Obama legacy. I am sorry, but any Democratic candidate, at any level (local, state and federal) , who runs against President Obama’s policies, or try to trash president Obama, will not get my support or my financial contribution.

I feel you both. Not having a nominee that we can all be 100% enthused about stings.
Eventually though, we’ve gotta dust ourselves off and keep moving #FORWARD.

We simply can’t afford to let President Obama’s work go to waste after he leaves office. We need Dems in office AND yes, we need to hold them accountable. But first, we’ve gotta get ’em in office. Hopefully with the support of large majorities.

Wow, this participant at the Town Hall, has an amazing story.

He opened by saying he was personally grateful for having an intelligent and deeply caring person as POTUS.

The last time he was in that very auditorium was when his daughter was an 8th grade cheerleader. She daughter OD’d just 2 months ago — she was already turning blue when they found her, but the PD and paramedics miraculously revived her.

She’s now in rehab for the 4th time in Michigan — nothing available locally.

He is also grateful that ACA requires coverage for drug treatment.

So wish PBO could have a third term!!!

God, we are so blessed!!!! Let’s savor every minute, then go out and work for ALL Dems because if we don’t, all his hard work (and VPB’s) will be for naught. It matters who we elect at every level.

well I missed this, wanted to know what his drug policy is going to be, as heroin is huge here and a real problem on my street/ neighborhood. I’ve mentioned the guy behind me sells heroin and the young hookers and many of the men walking our street are on it. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating.
