PF, I felt I was watching a slave era whipping. The students repped the slaves made to silently watch; the teacher/administrator repped the âgoodâ slaves who kept the others in line; the cop repped the overseer who administered the punishment. Iâve been reading the guardian blog - someone needs to define “debate” to these fools - guess they were all too stupid to be in their school/college debating - although I believe Cruz may have been - then again - he is insane, rather than stupid
I cannot believe these people think they are anyways qualified to become US President. Romney/McCain may have been lousy candidates but compared to this lot they were brilliant.

Shortly after midnight on September 14, 2000, James Ghent slipped out of his Miami home, climbed into his car with a suit, a toothbrush, and a change of underwear, and drove nearly 500 miles to Tallahassee to ask Jeb Bush for his rights backâŚ
Ghent completed his final prison sentence in the early 1990s and his parole in 1995. He got clean. He remarried and raised a family. He went back to school for a degree in radiography.
But like everyone convicted of a felony in Florida, Ghent permanently lost his right to vote, serve on a jury, and run for office. The only way to regain these rights was to petition the governor for clemency. Ghent believed voting âshould always be a right,â but he was also motivated by economic concerns. He couldnât receive a professional license to practice radiography unless the governor granted his petition. And so on that September morning, Ghent descended into the basement of the state Capitol with dozens of other petitioners for a unique Florida ritual: ex-felons entreating the governor and members of his cabinet for the restoration of their civil rights.
These hearings, held four times annually, begin promptly at 9 a.m. One by one, ex-offenders like Ghent approach a podium, where they have five minutes to make their case. A red light signals their time is up. If the governor recommends clemency, and if a majority of the cabinet members agreeâand they almost always doâthe ex-offenderâs civil rights are restored. If the governor feels otherwise, the petitioner returns home without the full privileges of citizenshipâŚ
Bush issued his verdict as soon as Ghent concluded his pitch. âIâm going to deny the restoration of civil rights,â he said. He wanted to see Ghent remain on the straight and narrow a bit longer, to prove he had really changed his ways. âI hope you come back, and I wish you well.â
Fifteen years later, Ghent remembers the sting of those words. âHe was very dismissive,â says Ghent. The ex-felon wanted to push back against Bushâs decision. But he simply said, âThank you,â and turned away.

I saw 5-7 minutes of CM and his gang on MSNBC. They were all singing the praises of Rubio and I do mean singing the praises. He was magnificent, fabulous, hard-hitting, blah, blah, blah. Jeb-Didnât have anything good to say about him! Also had good things to say about Christie…….that he had a ‘strongâ night. They didnât have much positive to say about Carson. The few minutes I saw, it was all Rubio!
Politico also claims Rubio ‘wonâ the debate. I didnât watch, so canât refute that. Only I have been seeing more and more articles lately saying Rubio is the one to watch, the one who will eventually be the candidate. Sounds like theyâre getting their messaging together.
