My dadās funeral was yesterday and it was a lovely celebration of his life and a wonderful send-off. The final hymn was one of his favorites, āAmazing Graceā. So I had that hymn going around in my head the rest of the day ā but instead of hearing the female vocalist, my internal version was President Obamaās heartfelt rendition on a loop. :-) To me, that will always and forever be the way that song should be sung. Thanks again to everyone on TOD for the kind messages about my dad ā he would be astounded to hear that so many knew about him ā at almost 88, the Internet quite bemused him! :-)

Lord Jesus, I canāt stop crying. Our presidentās broken heart and tears reflect those of thousands who have suffered the loss of loved ones to gun violence. May we reflect his courage and fierceness to get the job done of organizing, and voting, and fighting until this scourge becomes as rare as it is in other countries.
I turned the T V off almost as soon as PBO finished speaking because George S. almost immediately starting talking about what the ass hole repub. candidates and so-called law makers (those who have passed no laws in 7 years) have to say. What kind of country is this that such avarice is put before our lives? My heart broke to see such a good, strong, loving man who has seen so much pain in the eyes of so many, shed such tears in public. I love this man so much and thank God everyday that He sent him to us and most of us were smart enough to receive him.

I love my President, and I give thanks for him in my prayers daily. The tears are so painful. I know he will receive hugs from Valarie Jarret and VP Biden as soon as he arrives in the Oval Office from this announcement. You saw how Valerie was right behind him as he exited the room. No dearer or closer bond than FLOTUS to have beside him during a moment like this one. I wanted to jump through the screen and just hug him and tell him how much he is loved by all of us here. HZ
I have begun to think that the prayers and love of people of good will all over the world are very much a part of our Presidentās energy for good. We are part of his spirit of hope and change.
