People may start to disassociate from Trump himself but they wonāt disassociate from the thought process he has tapped into. That is where they are making a poor choice. The GOP itself, the individual voters, still canāt see the dead end in their thinking. As hard as it is to stand up to that stinking thinking in others, I am grateful not to have to try and confront it in my own heart. I am very fortunate to have connected in such a positive way with the President and also with his supporters. The positive connection idea is reinforced every day for me because of the associations I have forged over the last seven years. What a blessing.

NoSpin, I actually did hike up two very low mountains - long enough time between the two for me to have forgotten the *STRESS* - and vowed *never again*. It was supposed to have been a *fun* group activity. The 2nd time convinced me that for me thereās more fun to be had reading a good book!

Belated birthday greetings, oh armchair nature-enthusiast. Sorry I missed out on the festivities, but I could barely keep up with PBO on his Cuba/Argentina trip last week.
The angle of this photo makes it look treacherous, but it looks like thereās handrails on the wooden (?) trail — many people industriously toiled to engineer and build that trail — kudos to them.
Also thereās only a couple of switchbacks which tells me itās not that steep — have hiked in Glacier National Park up many more switchbacks (south-facing mountain in August when it was about 100F) — man, was I glad to get to the “chalet” on top.
Hereās a belated BD present (which youāve probably already seen, but this is closer to my neck of the woods — and Iāve never heard of it before [shame on me]). Google maps tells me its 133 miles away, midway between San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield CA (south of the general area where James Dean had his fatal crash):

The results of a Trump presidency would likely be far less dramatic. They might just include the widespread persecution of undocumented immigrants, the appointment of Supreme Court judges who will jettison Roe v. Wade, the end of any federal action on global warming, and a ramping up of American war crimes. We certainly wonāt see any expansion of family leave or early education. Based on what weāve seen of Trump so far, we can expect him to use the powers of the federal government, including NSA surveillance, to target and humiliate his personal enemies, especially women. The working theory of Revolution comes from a political scientist by the name of Jim Davies. he was my professor at the U. of Oregon back in the 60s. I took his class “Political Revolution”. A rich Hollywood actress like Sarandon likes to play in the drama of politics and play pretend with revolution. Real revolutions are often violent and brutal. And rich folk like her get taken down just like everybody else. Thatās why evolution beats revolution every time. Bernie is just a relic of the 60s radicals, pretending to be a revolutionary with his rhetoric and his Che Guevara posters. Heās an utter phony who is selling mirages.
Selling mirages. Thereās a lot of that to deal with and its exhausting. Just knowing the President is in office and inspiring us all to seek something integral and valid in each other and in the work we do for change is settling. God bless him for bringing an example of how this is all supposed to work when we work it.
The only thing I want out of the revolution is faster download speeds. Our download speeds suck compared to other countries.

My ten year old son has both an iPad and a laptop, and the crazy part is that he uses them at the same time. Iām like what are you doing, Day-Trading?
He may be a budding engineer. My son the engineer told me that maximizing efficiency one should have two devices open at the same time or at least two screens (as in the physical kind). Three or more not going to help efficiency but two is just right. See heās a genius, but you knew that already, right dad?
Iām not really into team building exercises at work, one minute we pretend to value each otherās opinion. And in the parking lot when Iām sitting in my car if you walk towards me Iām pretending like Iām looking for something just to avoid eye contact.
