Videographer Mary Moore is among more than two dozen news professionals arrested covering protests since the police killing of teenager Michael Brown.

ST. LOUIS — A freelance journalist has been convicted in Ferguson Municipal Court of failure to comply with a police order for taking video of a peaceful protest against police brutality in 2014.
Mary Moore, a videographer who has worked with ABC, CNN and BET, was notified this week that Municipal Judge Donald McCullin dismissed charges of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, and imposed a suspended sentence on the failure to comply conviction. The suspended sentence means Moore won’t be punished if she avoids trouble in Ferguson for a year.
Moore is one of least two dozen journalists arrested or detained covering Ferguson protests since the police shooting of teenager Michael Brown in August 2014. Some of the journalists have sued police over their arrests, and at least one has won a legal settlement. Moore said her conviction is likely to affect how she approaches her job covering news.
“I think the failure to obey charge is very untruthful and unfair,” said Moore, who claimed she followed police commands prior to her arrest. “This is Ferguson’s way to control how and if we cover the news or exercise our rights. I feel like now it would be a target on my head.”
Wow… and he sees the superdelegates as his pathway to the nomination??? Harassing them is supposed to make them more amenable to pledge to Sanders?

The Sanders supporter, Spencer ThⒶyer — who uses the anarchist symbol to spell his name — is is urging fellow Sanders supporters to “harass” Hillary Clinton’s superdelegates, in order to get them to change their vote to Bernie Sanders.
Thayer just just gave a troubling answer in response to concerns that his site could lead to violence
Not his responsibility if he set up the conditions for violence, supplies the information needed, implicitly encourages the violence and then violence happens. I realize that Sanders isn’t responsible for the actions of all his supporters and he could not have predicted this, but he’d better condemn it loudly and clearly! What a vicious thug. I don’t think President Obama or Sec. Clinton’s supporters would every contemplate such a thing.
With Wisconsin's new voter ID law in place this election, here are the valid forms of ID poll workers will accept. https://t.co/ektvi83kBn— Trymaine Lee (@trymainelee) April 05, 2025
I so agree, Bill R. They will be the same people, angry and acting as if they are being wronged because sane people no longer want anything to do with them.
i always wondered what happened to Tina Turner…something happened when she ran for Ohio SOS and lost…..did she not get support from the DNC amd DEMs…it was hard to believe that she would support Bernie Sanders….i always thought that she had more savvy than that
Nina Turner, prettyfoot.. I know you know that. lol It’s not the first time she’s said something that made it obvious why she flipped from Hillary to BS.
When you get paid by a Candidate with little to show for in Legislative accomplishments, Is it any wonder when surrogates are LIVE on TV/Cable, theyRun empty and then, they say the most offensive Stupid things?

You’re special, you’re uniquely made. Stop acting like you’re trash and putting pictures of yourself on the internet. Stop being disrespectful to your parents. Care about your future. Be somebody.”
The teenagers became teary-eyed when Judge Colvin urged them to never come back to her courtroom.
If ONE turns their lives around that speech was worth it……I suspect all of them will do better and won’t return to her court room or any court room. God Bless you Judge Colvin.
This needs to be played across the country- in schools, churches, community centers. She is a very special person, as are all those children. Had me crying.
At today’s WHPB, Josh Earnest was asked about PBO and VP basically endorsing Katie McGinty this weekend (when I was offline, so don’t know what the reporter was referring to).
@presssec insisted it wasn’t a snub against Joe Sestak.
What’s the scuttlebutt in PA in Dem circles?
And why does PA have two separate elections in 2016? One for Dem Presidential candidates and the other for Dem Senate candidates? Scratching my head over this as well.😦
Thought that’s what the reporter said — he said something to the effect that Sestak and McGinty aren’t on the ballot a couple of weeks from now, or I misheard, which is entirely possible, since I’m usually attempting to multi-task during WHPBs.
Is Philly media indicating that PBO and VP endorsed McGinty? I don’t know where that info came from.
Arapaho, both PA Senate candidates are on the ballot along with presidential candidates and congressional and state level ones. Unfortunately, PBO did endorse Katie McGinty at the insistence of former Governor Ed Rendell and Governor Wolf. Despite what Josh said at the press conference this is seen as a snub to Joe Sestak, who, by the way, still has my vote.
I’m obviously confused, hadn’t heard that either PBO or VP weighed in on PA primary and must have really missed the point the reporter was trying to make (don’t know his last name or who he works for — he seems to be in a different seat at each briefing — white haired gent named John).
Sounds like the PA Dem machine has thrown their weight behind McGinty, who was singed by some minor scandal (don’t recall what now). Too bad, thought Sestak would make a good Senator, but I know very little about either candidate and zero about PA politics.😦
It’s the Wisconsin primary, Hf. Sanders was always expected to win WI and then WY because of the demographics. The big states like New York and PA come later in April. Hillary still has over 90 percent possibility of winning the nomination.
Oh HECK no! Sorry for the scare!! I’ve just been using that forecaster to keep track of the primaries. You can see that things changed pretty drastically there.
This election year has my head spinning. Nothing makes sense.

These two GOP Senators from red-state Idaho want the Senate to confirm PBO’s federal judge nomination but are steadfast against even speaking to PBO’s SCOTUS nomination?

“U.S. Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch today announced that Idaho District Judge David C. Nye of Pocatello has been nominated by President Barack Obama to fill the open U.S. District Court judgeship in Idaho. The nomination was done after negotiations with the White House and upon the advice given by the senators from Idaho. The senators stated that they enthusiastically seek the consent of the full Senate for confirmation.”

I hope she appeals. This sounds like interference with the media’s ability to report the news and an attempt to intimidate the press.
Trump loves to run his mouth about his “policies” and “plans”. None of them are practical or reasonable and many sounds straight up illegal.
He’s all about smoke and mirrors, which no doubt is what has gotten him this far in his career. But in truth, he’s a flop!
Powerful.
back to work ……
Sound like Tim Robbins is just as nutty as Susan Sarandon. Are you kidding me Michele Bachman. Are you kidding me?
Bachman was a crazy out there politicians and Robbins donated to her. All I can say is wow.!
I can’t do this anymore.
rich’s reality.
Sanders and his supporters are on a mission to destroy the Democratic Party.
My girl HRC has done a great job. Her voice is showing the rigor of campaigning.
May she win today, or at the very least, keep it close in WI.
Music to my ears…

we are voting to nominate all the DEM candidates on April 26…no sure what you mean by separate
Thanks PF58 for the clarification.

If that holds, as you and everyone at TOD knows, thebern is gonna have a bad night in WI ….
Consistent ….
Oh, I hope so, Bobfr
turn out, turn out, turn out.
GE swbluega.
I’ve pretty much tuned out of the primary races, but am still bombarded with Trump/Cruz/Sanders nonsense on the radio.
538 is only giving Clinton a 28% chance of a win.😦 The graph looks really weird. She drops precipitously in March. Sanders and clinton switch places.
Huh?!? maryl1 what are you referring to - do you have a link?
is this it?

I don’t know whether maryl1 was referring to the WI primary or the Dem race in general.
It’s the Wisconsin primary, Hf. Sanders was always expected to win WI and then WY because of the demographics. The big states like New York and PA come later in April. Hillary still has over 90 percent possibility of winning the nomination.
Yes, makes sense now. Thanks!

Okay thanks - wasn’t sure which race you were talking about. Thought it was the general Dem nomination!
Oh HECK no! Sorry for the scare!! I’ve just been using that forecaster to keep track of the primaries. You can see that things changed pretty drastically there.
Looks like they might just not be feeling thebern, meta ….
That is my fervent hope, Bobfr.
Indeed, indeed!

Lol
The only reason Sanders might win WI is due to “Independents” exploiting the open primary process. And even then, it won’t be a blowout.
how can they call the election when so many folks are in line waiting to vote…
