Wow. You think they can’t get worse and they do. This is criminal behavior. So Flynn was going to send a dissident back to Turkey to be arrested and possibly killed and we’re supposed to be alright with that? Disgusting.

      GM ymd.

Would not believe a single word uttered by either DJT/team and ANY GOP elected official.

It’s truly appalling how these “spokespersons” have zero knowledge of the mid-20th century events that shaped global foreign policy (i.e., WWII, atomic bombs on Japan, Korean War, Vietnam War, etc.).

To make such a claim is an insult to anyone who is, or has parents/grandparents who witnessed these events.

      Background on Dina Powell:
“Powell, an Egyptian-American and an Arabic speaker, has taken a more prominent role recently in foreign affairs with Trump. She was seated at the head of the table during his lunch with the Saudi deputy crown prince this week. Powell, a director of personnel during the Bush administration, was a partner at Goldman Sachs before joining the administration. She has been a formal adviser to Ivanka Trump and Kushner.”

Dina Powell’s claim is as believable as DJT’s doctor declaring DJT as “the fittest person ever to run for president,” or whatever nonsense statement he issued during the 2016 campaign. And sure, being personnel director for GWB (the worst president in modern times, or at least since Nixon) certainly qualifies you to be point person as we ramp up military and downsize diplomacy (not).

SEBASTIAN GORKA is a sworn lifelong member of Vitezi Rend — inadmissible under USA Immigration and Nationality Act.
“GORKA, President Trump’s TOP COUNTER-TERRORISM ADVISOR,
is a formal member of a Hungarian far-right group that is listed by the U.S. State Department as having been “under the direction of the Nazi Government of Germany” during World War II. The elite order, known as the Vitézi Rend, was established as a loyalist group by Admiral Miklos Horthy, who ruled Hungary as a staunch nationalist from 1920 to October 1944. A self-confessed anti-Semite, Horthy imposed restrictive Jewish laws prior to World War II and collaborated with Hitler during the conflict. His cooperation with the Nazi regime included the deportation of hundreds of thousands of Jews into Nazi hands…
When he has signed his name Sebastian L. v. Gorka, the “v.” is an initial used by members of the Vitézi Rend.
    (See: http://forward.com/news/national/366181/exclusive-nazi-allied-group-claims-top-trump-aide-sebastian-gorka-as-sworn/)

    • March 17, 2017 at 12:34 pm

Like Flynn – was Gorka even vetted?
Let’s say he was vetted, was he hired anyway? Who the eff is in this Administration? What’s the hold up – Gorka OUT.

      • 35 57andfemale
        March 17, 2017 at 12:46 pm

They don’t vet. The qualifications to be in Trump administration is to be hateful, a white nationalist, fawn at his every word, and worship him unquestioningly. Bizarre.

        • March 17, 2017 at 1:06 pm

The State Department’s Foreign Affairs Manual specifies that members of the Vitézi Rend “are presumed to be inadmissible”
to the U.S.A. under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
COUNTER-TERRORISM ADVISOR Gorka’s immigration status is more than in doubt. Is the State Department on it?
No wonder Putin/Bannon/Trump/Pence want to do away with the State Department.

      Longer statement at the link

WASHINGTON, March 17, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — AARP Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond released the following statement today in response to the pending vote on the House bill that would create an “Age Tax,” weaken Medicare’s solvency, put at risk seniors’ ability to live independently as they age, and give sweetheart deals to big drug and insurance companies. In a letter sent to all 435 members of the House of Representatives, AARP maintained its strong opposition to this harmful bill and urged each Representative to vote ‘No’ on the proposed legislation. AARP believes this legislation will have a significant negative impact on the health of millions of older Americans ages 50 to 64, as well as other vulnerable groups, including poor seniors and disabled children and adults.

    • March 17, 2017 at 1:40 pm

Something else to give PBO credit for…more people paying attention and acting on what they are seeing/hearing.

GOP is not so easily getting away with doing things in a vacuum. If there had not been so much concern about healthcare, TRyancare would have already been pushed through the House and may have already been passed in the Senate. But because people are paying attention and putting their representatives on notice, there’s some hesitancy about voting in lockstep.

We can plot street protests. We can write our congress members. We can do all sorts of things. But until the people of this country turn out to elections in those numbers, nothing will change.

In electoral politics, those who vote get to decide matters. You can tell pollsters that you hate Trump. You can tell pollsters that you prefer Planned Parenthood, or Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama, or even Bernie Sanders to Trump and his regime. But unless you turn out and cast that ballot, nothing matters.

Our opponents depend on voter apathy. Low turnout benefits them. They win elections when they operate in the dark. An energized electorate is antithetical to their success.

This has been my resting state as well as intermittent periods of feeling hyperalert as if a tornado is barreling in and I’m crouching somewhere to hope it doesn’t hit my residence This started on election day and has not let up. Then midweek I had a stunning sense of calm come over me. Its not avoidance related, haven’t changed my persistent lookout behavior. I am not numb, the news affects me greatly but there is a deep, indescribable sense of calm and assurance I don’t know what it means yet, and am still disgusted by what I see each day. Perhaps some kind of critical point has been reached and we don’t even know it yet.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Justice Department on Friday said it delivered documents to congressional committees responding to their request for information that could shed light on President Donald Trump’s claims that former President Barack Obama ordered U.S. agencies to spy on him.

“The Department of Justice has complied with the request from leaders of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees and Judiciary Committees seeking information related to surveillance during the 2016 election,” a department spokeswoman said via email.

A congressional official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the House Intelligence Committee was examining the documents and might issue a public statement about them later on Friday.
