It’s so great to be reminded – often and constantly – we enjoyed living in the Age of Pres Obama!

I WILL BE HAPPY TO SPEAK TO THAT FACT AGAIN….FIRST OF ALL…THIS TIME AROUND THE DEMS. NEEDED A BETTER CANDIDATE..ONE THAT INSPIRED…ONE WITH ENERGY…I AM SORRY BUT THE HILL WAS NOT IT..I VOTED FOR HER WITH A GRIMACE BUT I KNEW IT WOULD NOT WORK WITH HER. BARACK OBAMA WAS THE GREATEST PRESIDENT IN OUR HISTORY…THE LAST OF THE GREAT…MOVE OVER MT. RUSHMORE..HE BROKE THE BLOCK. UNFORTUNATELY OUR GREEDFUL, IGNORANT AND ARROGANT SOCIETY HAS FALLEN TO ANOTHER LEVEL…AKA…THE BASEMENT..AND..WE REAP WHAT WE SOW. NONE OF WHAT IS CURRENTLY GOING ON SURPRISES ME…THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS..LITERALLY. THEY HATED THE BLACK GUY AND NOW THEY HAVE WHITEY..THE IMMORAL STOOGE FOR PUTIN AND ANYONE ELSE WHO COMES AROUND WITH A BANK ACCOUNT!…

Hillary would have been good; methodical and would have got the job done. We would have been even more prosperous, more children and adults would have gotten insurance, DACA would still have been in place, just to name a few things. Yes, Barack Obama was GREAT, but should would have been good. We may never have great again, but we can always have good, that that’s ok too.

*she would have been good”, not should would have been good. Even writing this I’m not so sure if she wouldn’t have been great, just in a different way.

I AGREE THAT THE HILL WOULD HAVE PROTECTED INSURANCE..ETC…BUT SO WOULD A MORE ENERGETIC CANDIDATE…OBVIOUSLY THE HILL WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH.

Where is the so called MSM in reporting facts instead of LIES from the Moron in the white house now. The only way we can make america great again is for the so called MSM to START REPORTING FACTS. FACTS MATTERS NOT TALKING POINTS. We need that NOW MORE than ever. We cannot wait for NOV 2018 when the next election comes by to change the HOUSE and possibly the SENATE….

Why is it necessary for people to call every month to beg one group to do their jobs and for the other group not to make our lives untenable? Representative government is supposed to be just that, but what we have is a small group of people who are in government to enrich themselves, their friends and their patrons and for the rest of us to pay for it.

I’ve heard that the reason the stock indexes like the Dow Jones Industrial Average have soared since FUBAR took office is because the stock market is betting on sinking this country deeper in debt (aka tax cuts for the wealthy) — all the whining about debt and deficits that the GOP does during elections is a sham, which MSM refuses to acknowledge.

Quick Takes: Another Unprecedented Attempt to Repeal Obamacare
A roundup of news that caught my eye today.

    by Nancy LeTourneau
    September 18, 2017

In order to get the bill through, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell intends to cut off all debate, prevent any amendments, and refuse any discussion. Itโ€™s a combination that has never been used before. Itโ€™s a genuinely unprecedented shutdown of the Senate. For anyone who claimed to be concerned over the way previous Republican bills were pushed, it might seem that this institution-flattening excercise in power would be a deal-breaker โ€ฆ or maybe not.

In addition to a process thatโ€™s ripping up the Senate rules, there have been no public hearings. There is no CBO score. The total amount of discussion will be limited to two minutes, with no amendments, no other votes.

    * Itโ€™s not hard to guess why Republicans are attracted to this particular effort to repeal Obamacare.

Under the current proposal, federal healthcare funding in California would drop by $57,547 per person. New Yorkers would see a loss of $33,058. No other state even comes close. For many red states like Wyoming and South Dakota, the bill is a wash, dropping funding less than $1,000 over a decade. The formula has been deliberately crafted to punish states that vote for Democrats while protecting those that vote for Republicans. The effect could not be more brazen if they simply announced it.

This CAN’T be constitutional to target specific states to hurt them specifically by political party. I hope that all Democratic states sue if this passes. These people are just EVIL!

    What Makes Trump So Dangerous?
by Nancy LeTourneau September 18, 2017

A lot of questions have been raised about Donald Trumpโ€™s mental health. I have said that we need to talk about it not only because he is dangerous, but because the topic has been shrouded in secrecy, which only reinforces the stigma.

On October 3rd, a book โ€œThe Dangerous Case for Donald Trumpโ€ will be published. In it, 27 psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health experts assess President Trumpโ€™s mental health. Bill Moyers recently interviewed Robert Jay Lifton, the psychohistorian who wrote the forward. Before getting to what he said about Trump, here is how Lifton describes the intent of the authors:

We have a duty to warn on an individual basis if we are treating someone who may be dangerous to herself or to others โ€” a duty to warn people who are in danger from that person. We feel itโ€™s our duty to warn the country about the danger of this president. If we think we have learned something about Donald Trump and his psychology that is dangerous to the country, yes, we have an obligation to say so.

What Whiteness Looks Like From a Black Perspective
    by Nancy LeTourneau
    September 19, 2017

Anyone who is interested in wresting with how race and politics intermingle in this country should definitely watch these two segments from Chris Hayesโ€™s interview with Ta-Nehisi Coates.

Overall, these two had a fascinating conversation. But Iโ€™d like to highlight two things that stood out to me.

The other part of the conversation Iโ€™d like to highlight comes towards the end when Hayes asks Coates to respond to the reality that things are pretty bleak right now for white working class Americans. Here is his response:

Even within our language, when we say something like โ€œwhite working class people are suffering x,y, and z, implicit in that is that white people shouldnโ€™t be going through thatโ€”something about being white should somehow make you immune to thatโ€ฆThere are a number of writers who get something out of that fact. It gives them a kind of moral high groundโ€”a relationship to a victim that they donโ€™t have with black peopleโ€ฆI donโ€™t ever want to allow my insistence that folks focus on the force of white supremacy to elide the fact of any group anywhere suffering. But I also donโ€™t want to endorse the notion that whiteness should somehow give you immunity to the kind of suffering that black people have been enduring since we got here in 1619.

Republican propaganda efforts reach a new, alarming level
    09/19/17 10:00 AMโ€”UPDATED 09/19/17 10:01 AM
    By Steve Benen
Americans who pay attention to political news can probably think of plenty of conservative outlets that seem like extensions of the Republican Party. But what if there were a far-right news source that was literally an extension of the Republican Party?

The Associated Press today introduced the public to The Free Telegraph, which isnโ€™t a news outlet, but does its very best to pretend to be.

Republican governors are getting into the โ€œnewsโ€ business.

The Republican Governors Association has quietly launched an online publication that looks like a media outlet and is branded as such on social media. The Free Telegraph blares headlines about the virtues of GOP governors, while framing Democrats negatively. It asks readers to sign up for breaking news alerts. It launched in the summer bearing no acknowledgement that it was a product of an official party committee whose sole purpose is to get more Republicans elected.

If you swing by The Free Telegraphโ€™s site right now, there is a disclosure notice at the very bottom that notes the outlet is โ€œpaid for by [the] Republican Governors Association.โ€ But before anyone finds that impressive, itโ€™s worth remembering that (a) the disclosure is in a small, gray font, against a gray background; and (b) that disclosure was only added to the site after the Associated Press started asking about it.

The Free Telegraph โ€“ not be confused with the Daily Telegraph, which is an actual newspaper published in the U.K. โ€“ has a Twitter feed that tells readers itโ€™s โ€œbringing you the political news that matters outside of Washington,โ€ without mentioning its Republican ownership. The same is true of its Facebook account, which labels The Free Telegraph a โ€œMedia/News Company.โ€

I have no problem with this. Other leaders can react as they choose without blowback and retribution, the penalties we face for such. He need. to know how the world sees him: an ignorant buffoon. I do not feel embarrassed because this is on him and those who put him there either directly or indirectly. Being laughed at is the thing that men fear the most, especially would be tyrants like him. The only thing we need to seal a deal is video of how PBO was received being showcased on social and broadcast media. The more miserable he feels the more likely he is to find a way out of a job he does not like or to finally do something so egregious that even the GOP will call for his impeachment.

This lack of a coherent and unified agenda is, of course, one of the key hallmarks of the rabid Left on nearly every issue, and this mindset is one of the main reasons that despite the American people supporting a progressive agenda, conservatives continue to run (and ruin) this country.

I understand that being a realist is super tiring, as it involves actually treating politics as what it is: the art of the possible. Being a realist demands that we examine current political climate, current legislative numbers, current votes available, and forge a path that gets as close to a progressive direction as possible.

Being an idealist chomping for outrage is, on the other hand, much more fun. You can disregard reality, pound your fist, and never have to feel responsible for anything or anyone.
