hilarious
Pretty funny. He rightly assumed that the office of the POTUS would have fancy phones and big screens appearing etc., the latest technology. Why is everything so antiquated there? I remember this same complaint and discussion with our intelligence community. Time to get rid of those black rotary dial phones, I would think. :)
And I also laughed at the slugs remark. There are slugs in every profession, but of course the news outlets that carried that tidbit did not bother with Obama’s full accounting, his defense of the majority of federal workers. They just wanted to get Obama, trying again to cause a divide in his supporters, by making it seem like he called all fed. workers slugs. What a dishonest job of reporting our news media does, not interested in the truth, only in the controversial.
where was this reported..other than CBS of course? Which media outlet tried to make hay out of his remarks? I wanna know so I can give them a piece of my mind.
thought I saw the LA Times push this line that POTUS disparaged Federal employees
I love this president, he could read me the financial times and still hold my attention. :D
Yes ‘Ma’am’, he could. There’s just ‘something’ about him!
Have a happy (if wet - where I am) Saturday everyone.
Haha! I bet he could!
This is too funny. I love our President’s sense of humor. When did he say this?
All right ya’ll we need to band together and hold bake sales to buy the President a new phone? ;) I am joking no doubt. Wouldn’t it be lovely if tech companies heard this and they step up to donate new equipment to the White House & Pentagon.
I do enjoy seeing the President speak so candidly and it seems we’ll be hearing more and more leading up to 2012.:)
I’ll mail in the cookies. :) :)
Hehehe. LOL. I remember mentioning this when they just moved in, how aevrything is outdated. Me too, I could listen to him speaking 24/7 with no bathroom breaks for me. LOL.
This audio is soooo much different than the slanted snippet I read in the newspaper. Hearing it straight from POTUS mouth makes a whole lot of difference in regards to the context of the statement.
A perfect example of why I stopped reading about POTUS in the newspaper, or watching news snippets about him. I would invariably get the complete speech, etc on the blogs, (normally hours, at least, before they feature it)then hear/read the fractured version and feel like I was going to blow a gasket. I got really upset, yelling ‘That’s a lie!’ ‘That is totally the wrong interpretation. Tell the whole story, you biased nitwits!’ ‘That’s totally misleading! You guys are such liars!’ etc. etc. FINALLY, in 2008, I waved goodbye. Now I ONLY check them out if some trusted soul (on the blogs) point to a truth they have shared. In the interest of sanity, GGail, I’d recommend ignoring newspaper and TV snippets. They apparently have no time/space/integrity to report truth, especially as it relates to this President.
I would like to drop them, but my need to know what they say and how they think pushes me onward so I can argue their slants away when called upon. Thank you so much for feeling my disgust.
I haven’t heard anything about his. Oh god I cannot stand our media. They make me sick.
It sucks he can’t talk like that in public since everything iS GOTCHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa
He is so great as our President. I love to hear him speaking like this. It is always taken our of context for this President. He wants to make this such a better place. I pray that he will continue to be successful and we will re-elect him in 2012. I am reading an interesting book now by Ishmael Reed who taught at University of California (Berkeley for thirty-five years as well as at Harvard, Yale and Dartmouth. I highly recommend the book for those who are interested in reading about the media. Title: Barack Obama and the Jim Crow Media.. Interesting read.
