YES?!
YES!
Go gb. How are you today?
Doing well, amk. Feeling lazy but I’m good.
Great feeling isn’t it, that lazy ? :)
It is. It is.
You are SUPER speedy today, GB!!!!
Just got lucky.
How ya feeling?
I’m doing good 57, thank you.
G’day all. My, my, my gobrook. You seem to be on a bit of a roll since you got back. Congrats! Full speed ahead. :-D
Vroom vroom baby!
Hello!
Look at you!!!!!
Go Brooklyn……….you sure move fast….:)
GB’s legs are getting stronger..pushing through the door…
Congrats on first GB!
That’s a ‘must read’ - thanks LP!
#TrustBarack
Anytime Bobfr, I now leave it in your, Chips, and TOD’s able hands to pass this along as a counterweight to the Media’s/GG/Snowden propaganda.
Some of this misreporting goes viral, cementing untruths in the public that corrections after the fact will never repair…

Most important commentary!
Yes indeed, prettyfoot!
Congrats GB Usain Bolt has nothing on you
So true :)
Congrats on 1st GB and glad you are steadily recovering!!
A perfect fit……I knew PBO would send Russ to Africa, one of his great passions.
As long as he doesn’t use his position to diss his boss, the POTUS, then it’s good.
Hear. Hear.
Yup. Put that saintly I-am-holie-than-thou garb away, russ.
This sounds like an incredibly challenging assignment.
There’s so much unrest in central Africa; don’t know enough to comment on what’s going on there, other to say it sounds very complex.
Good luck to Sen. Feingold on this challenging assignment. But now that he’s *part* of the administration, it’s unlikely that he’ll diss our President (keep enemies close, like POTUS’ masterstroke of nominating HIllary for SOS).
Luckily, ol’ Russ can be “called back to Washington” for a sit down, if he ever does. This is not like being elected into the Senate, where you can say any damn thing you want. He’s now fully representing the administration. Plus, I think SOS Kerry will keep him in check!
as I recall, he was one of the co-chairmen of the Reelect campaign and he still put his foot in his mouth once in awhile. He always appears to me to be a grudging supporter. He’s brilliant, talented and principled but does not understand the long game.
I’m hoping he’s brilliant in this assignment but experience tells me to be a little cynical.
Yes, I gave up on Russ a long time ago, and I’m cynical, too. Just pointing out the little “safeguards” (SOS can take him out to the woodshed, etc.).
I simply have little use for ‘principles’ when your principles almost tank ACA because it’s not ‘good enough’ and usher in a RWNJ as Senator in effing WI. I’m sorry PBO isn’t pure enough for you, but he’s sure purer than any President RWNJ. You want to live in an ivory tower, get the hell out of politics and go preach in a university somewhere.
Bet it felt good getting all that out, 57! Brava, on what you wrote!
(Although I must admit when I was reading “I’m sorry PBO isn’t pure enough for you,” I thought you meant I was the “you.” Maybe that’s why I really, really appreciated what you wrote as I finished it! Ha!)
Oh NO, jacquelineoboomer! Never you. I meant Feingold!
Oh, don’t worry, I figured that out quick, but for a second there … Ha!
BTW, do you know if Caroline Kennedy was nominated as ambassador to Japan?
I head the speculation a week or so ago, but I haven’t heard that she had been named.
Good news for Russ Feingold:
I wish FLOTUS was able to shake some of that crowd hands.
They got a warm wave, Anniebella!
That’s nice. :)
GOP “Death Spiral” continues!
PERFECT comment!! Ritorna Vincitor • 30 minutes ago −
Tough balancing act for Boehner. He has to appeal to both factions of his party: the out of touch, and the out of mind.

Of course, I should have mentioned FLOTUS, but, hey. Same wonderful First Family!
You want them to report facts?!?!!?! That would interfere with the reality that only exists in the media bubble. Even here at home, wherever POTUS and FLOTUS go, people love them, but the media insists he is “aloof” and doesn’t “relate” to people.
That’s why I like to figuratively rub their faces in it!
:-D
Great tweets, JOB! Keep up the good work of exposing the U.S. media’s unethical behavior.
Thanks, nath! I’ll try, although it’s never ending, isn’t it?
This is why I give kudos all the time to the Obamas for making sure that wherever they go, no matter what country they visit, they make time to address the youth of that country. It’s important because a sitting president, prime minister, leader, activist, educator, fighter of the poor and downtrodden is sitting in any of those audiences and these visits affect lives. They are that powerful.
Interesting juxtaposition to me between privacy rights on NSA issue vs. Roe ..why are they any different?
I think these are issues to ponder and reconcile but are not apples-to-apples. External, technological communications require that we accept the notion that we are using a grid, a third party system to communicate, and those systems can be manipulated to do massive harm to large numbers of people and property. I do not see that as the same as something deeply private like the choice of having a baby - that’s a family decision, a personal, private decision that does not affect the world at large.
Our data is everywhere. Is it more ‘private’ to call on a regular phone to get my balance and recent debits/checks? Is that any safer than using the Internet? I honestly don’t know. If I can’t monitor on a daily basis, that gives thieves a month before my next statement for me to see there’s been a problem. Is the mail safe to send me that statement? I know that in order to buy a house I have to tell damn near every detail of my life. When you apply for insurance, the most personal information about you is out there, out of your control. Can we be naive enough to say that the government that is supposed to help us stay safe should have access to less information than Google has if I buy a purse online?
I’m deeply concerned about the amount of information out there and who has access and who can abuse it. The concept of privacy and its absoluteness is a serious conundrum and should be part of this conversation and the decisions we make as a people. However, it’s difficult to have that discussion when loons from both sides of the spectrum are screaming at each other, are hyper-emotional and are not contemplating any kind of balance.
Me and my friend got into an argument yesterday about Clinton. I was furious over how he was saying that Clinton was more effective in getting things done and brought up Clinton’s many so called accomplishments such as DOMA and how this not so great man created so many messes for the Obama administration to fix. Maybe not as bad as Bush’s but still very large in their own right.
Well basically I almost exploded about how Clinton didn’t do a single thing in trying to take out Bin Laden either and PBO was the one that had the guts to do what neither Bush or Clinton had the guts to do. I also pointed out Clinton’s own very big fail Black Hawk Down and how the media was virtually silent on the issue. Needless to say we ended up dropping the subject but he was saying how he ‘didn’t understand how I had to bash Clinton to raise Obama up’ and that he was almost certain that PBO will be memorized as a great president in the books but the people will probably not look at him in that way.
I still feel pretty pissed to be honest, so probably going to avoid this guy for awhile.
revisionist history, once again. Because Clinton was President in a prosperous time, people tend to “forget” all the shitty stuff, and there was lots…but we put the blinders on, had cash in our pockets and food in our mouths, and had not a care….until we did. It was 2000, and the crap started getting pretty thick, pretty fast….and continued until PBO had to change the trajectory from things Clinton and GWB BOTH did. That selective memory syndrome gets them every time. I bet dollars to donuts that your buddy has not even half a clue to all that PBO has accomplished….even for people like him. Have THAT conversation :)
Clinton had a lot of good luck fall in his lap: the peace dividend, a great economy (that had precious little to do with Clinton except timing).
The economic collapse can be traced back to Clinton who was just fine with deregulation of the banks and non regulating credit default swaps. NAFTA DID send manufacturing away from America and to foreign countries, with no trade checks on working conditions, etc. that would have made it a level playing field. The Telecom Bill effectively gave the entire media to the RWNJ’s. These are not things that Clinton agonized over - he championed these moves.
He could have reversed Reagan and re-instituted anti-trust laws. He didn’t. He could have reversed privatization - and instead put it on steroids, with Al Gore, the hypocrite, at the helm.
He had to fight the RWNJ witch hunts. And what does he do? Give them a REASON for the witch hunts. He took all that good luck that just fell in his lap, and gave us W. for President
I can’t believe he doesn’t know the damage his corporatist policies and his destructive personal behavior have wrought. For him to pretend he is blameless, or is any way better at it than PBO who has endured more in one week than Bill Clinton had to endure in 8 years, is outrageous.
I empathize with you Jeff. But that’s what time does for people. Your friend was probably financially better off or remembers “times being better” under Clinton, so his faulty memory props up Clinton. Heck Bush’s popularity is going up as well!
But your friend is completely wrong, and when the history books are written, they will look at the comparative accomplishments and struggles each President had, and President Obama will definitely come out more accomplished.
Quite frankly, since FDR, Truman, LBJ, we haven’t had a more accomplished President.
But all this Clinton worshipping has really broken the camels back for me. I’ve vowed to not canvass or donate money on behalf of Clinton, if Hillary runs. I will vote, if that’s my only option. But that’s it.
This is the great risk, pink bunny. I had this argument with a Democrat yesterday when I told him that Bill Clinton was risking his wife’s candidacy with his criticism of the president. He said that I would vote for her anyway and I told him that it takes more than “voting” to win, it takes blood, guts and endless hard work, not to mention money. And I would not “support” her in the same way if her husband did not shut up.
‘didn’t understand how I had to bash Clinton to raise Obama up’
uh, wasn’t he the one who was doing it the other way about ?
And Doma is a feather in bill’s ginormous big headed cap ?
The Clintons, like Reagan, are being immortalized by their party. I have no idea why but it’s happening. Clinton was overrated as Secy of State it was nauseating. Imo while she would be better than a Repub but she wouldn’t be able to accomplish hardly anything except ride off of PBO’s hard work with Obamacare and foreign policy. Dems will shoot themselves in the foot trying to force Billary to run.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that Hillary didn’t distinguish herself one bit as SoS.
Do expect, however, to hear the rumblings that she would have been GREAT if PBO hadn’t held her back. I expect this b.s. to start sometime in 2014.
57andfemale, you are by no means the only one…
“Billary” is just killing me. Absolutely perfect!
Congrats GB and Layla…..Golden :!:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “starkly warned Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) not to eliminate the filibuster on presidential nominations, warning that he’ll end the 60-vote threshold for everything, including bills, if becomes the majority leader,” TPM reports.
Said McConnell: “There not a doubt in my mind that if the majority breaks the rules of the Senate to change the rules of the Senate with regard to nominations, the next majority will do it for everything.”
There you go. Did ya hear that harry ? This fucker is saying they’re gonnna bomb the filibuster when they get the power back.
Harry is weak and gets bullied all the time.
Had a golden opportunity with the beginning of an improved senate to further dem goals and botched it miserably.
I have never believed for a minute that Harry was planning on following through with his lam threats. The whole idea of waiting for July, and then Dem Senators told him to wait until after immigration passes is all BS. President Obama will be the first President in history to go through his entire 2nd term without a full cabinet. All of the Senate dems are a disgrace.
If, God forbid, they get the majority they’re going to gut the filibuster ANYWAY. Isn’t that obvious?!?!

Have POTUS, FLOTUS, and the girls left for Germany yet?
Yes, and they’re scheduled to arrive around 2:25PM (US Eastern time).
They will not get 122 republicans voting for this. Not even close.
So, we have to start registering Hispanic voters, and telling them to enroll in Obamacare.
That’s the plan!
1:0 EDT: Vice President Biden Speaks on Gun Safety

VP BIDEN COMING UP LIVE …..GUN SAFETY
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/biden-speaks-on-gun-safety-watch-live
So the President will veto and he doesn’t have to bring up the bill-
If true, Reid should be replaced!
Legislating based on threats…..
Alexander is a Repug why should we listen to anything he says?
He should have been replaced three handshakes ago.
I am sorry, but I do not like the constant bashing of Harry Reid on this blog because I find it to be a bit simplistic. It’s not just Harry Reid who is uncomfortable with doing away with the filibuster. Some of the Senators I respect highly, like Sen. Leahy and Sen. Boxer, are also uncomfortable about getting rid of the filibuster because they are thinking long term. It’s not far fetched to assume that there may come a time when Democrats are in a minority and would need the filibuster to stop obnoxious legislations.
Wow ! That came out of nowhere.
If he nails this, bravo!
Unreporting, as usual, of the end of our long 10-year war in Afghanistan.
Perfect.
Interesting!
Live streaming of Irish news, report coming up on Michelle Obama’s visit to Dublin/Wicklow

http://thedailybanter.com/2013/06/greenwald-snowden-and-the-art-of-hero-worship/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=greenwald-snowden-and-the-art-of-hero-worship&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Greenwald so desperately wants Snowden’s story to be 100% on the up-and-up that he’s making easily spotted, amateurish mistakes in the way he reports it, and all that’s doing is giving his critics all the ammo they need to dismiss him and his “bombshell.”
But that hardly matters to the faithful. For many on the left, Snowden’s tale was unequivocally true and undoubtedly the stuff of paranoid nightmares long before it was even reported. Greenwald’s stories and Snowden’s nebulous accusations and behavior only confirmed that which the left already knew and had been railing about for years without direct proof of their suspicions. Any attempt to refute either, in the eyes of many far-left liberals, now amounts to little more than pro-surveillance state fealty to authority, regardless of how backed up by facts it happens to be. What’s really ironic is that Greenwald has spent his entire recent career accusing anyone who disagrees with him of engaging in hero worship and submission to the “cult of personality” surrounding Barack Obama, and yet here he is now, prostrating himself before a man he himself believes can do no wrong and has in fact done an inarguable right: Edward Snowden. Even if Snowden’s story has holes in it, who cares? The important thing is that he’s a hero to the left. That serves the greater good.
Yeah, the far left and the far right will meet each other on the other side, where they will keep themselves busy (erroneously) circling the wagons, looking for zombies.
In the meantime, President Obama will keep on being his masterful self, and his supporters will remain busy brushing the antics of the far left and right off their shoulders, getting out the vote, and, in all cases, we will continue to have his back!
i don’t consider the greenwald choir types “liberals” i guess people mght have different definitions of liberal, but for me, once people start behaving as belligerent authoritarians who can’t have one single disagreement with someone without name calling, and certainly not compromising to you know, take some action to make progress, and happen to about 99% white people (mostly male too), they lose any right to call themselves liberal, especially far-left liberal.
these people have much more in common with libertarians, which is just a strain of republican, and i’ve even felt they’ve tried to set up shop as “liberals” specifically to “divide and conquer” support for democrats. these last couple of weeks especially with the n.s.a stuff is perfect proof of that insidious plan, in my opinion.
They are not liberals, 4 more. Liberals have traditionally supported strong government and do not leave in fear of government institutions. These are Libertarians disguised as liberals, with a ‘divide and conquer’ goal.
my god, i posted about this yesterday and just checked again, cnn’s site frontpage still does not have one single mention of our president at the G8 summit. our president is in northern ireland (!!!) and meeting with the president of russia, british p.m. and others, while discussing major issues right now and showing signifcant progress on those issues, and a supposed major “news” source has NOTHING about it on a frontpage packed with other headlines. there’s something right near the top now about a wife of a reality tv show star getting in trouble somehow, and of course several ones negative about president obama instead (fake polls, “did the white house order the IRS targeting?”) and others like this. repeat, nothing about our president doing momentous things overseas and improving our image across the world in a big way. pure propaganda mill, the “news” is.
Seriously they could have at least put his travels in the “Travel” section.
haha!!
The only time our President’s “travels” are covered in the US media is when they want to incite public/Right-wing anger based on “cost to taxpayer” propaganda.
I tweeted about this earlier.
The thoughts that come to me imagining PBO as my doctor….okay l´ll go sit on the naughty mat.
Hmmm. Reading my mind….. :-)
Gunnite folks.
Night, amk:)
VP Biden is on.
Yes, watching. Thanks JER :)
And they are on the brink of epic fail with that last one.
I also just checked CNN’s website…right, no mention of the President at the G8. They still have a very easy way to email them, so I did. Told them this was journalistic malpractice, that the President of our country was representing our country at a world meeting, and how could they not include that on their front page?
Let’s all bombard them with emails. Someone reads them, and I know they count. Spread the word. I don’t tweet, but in this case I think email is very good.
Have had an extended Father’s Day of travel and celebration (I truly have the BEST dad in the world :) and am now such a busy bee working, but I wanted to take a minute and say THANK YOU for the OUTSTANDING coverage Chips!!!!!!! It has been amazing… as always.
There should be a special award for all that you do. I love every chance I get to peek in here. Of course when I get to read the comments that adds to the splendor.
Big HUGS and many THANKS for all of the hard work.
Here is the link to CNN’s homepage feedback. I just sent them an email about their lack of coverage to their online viewers about the President’s trip abroad.
Please join me in letting them know how you feel about this. - Thanks!!
http://www.cnn.com/feedback/show/?s=cnnhomepage
Done! Thanks, DD4O!
Done, thanks. My previous email went to the general contact site. I didn’t know about this Home page feedback…..now I do.
Thanks I sent them an e-mail. Told them that once upon a time they were on my homepage and my television was always on CNN but no more. Not even one article or a mention of the summit and they want us to believe they are worth watching. No, we can leave them alone and we did just that.
Done! Thanks Donna for sharing the link.
Now, I have seen Elephants Fly. John McCain said what? That Pres Obama’s 3 circuit DC Judges deserve a vote? Hmm? Who invades John McCain’s wicked old Mind?
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/mccain-obamas-3-dc-circuit-nominees-deserve-votes
‘Pres Obama’s 3 circuit DC Judges deserve a vote?’
See what happens? GOP types behave so badly for so long their behaviour becomes the ‘norm’, and we are then incredulous, sometimes even congratulatory, when they do/say what should have been done/said initially.
Methinks McCain is taking threat of removing filibuster seriously.
Loooove him. His strength, grit, and determination in this fight is inspiring.
AH! The TAKERS…at it again

So there will be live coverage of Air Force One touchdown in Berlin?
Also, change of plans: my oral exams it turns out were moved from tomorrow afternoon to tomorrow morning. School will thus be out at noon. Whoot :)
I am very interested how his speech will differ from the one five years ago …
Reuters.livestation.com/demo has live coverage of Berlin arrival
Whoot :)
Can’t wait to see the video. :)
That’s exactly what I’ve been asking Knoller for. No response so far.
