Repeat wherever we have confused Democrats. Or Democrats like Steve Israel who think that “Fixing the ACA” makes sense in the actual universe we are living in—-not the DC Media fog.

just like a number of people expressed on the previous thread, I used to religiously tune into Maddow but I now watch specific segments that others recommend;
I used to appreciate when she brings information that is important and others had not covered (case in point is the focus she placed on how effective PBO has been on following through with the Nuclear Disarmament and tracing loose nuclear weapons as PBO mentioned in his historic speech in Prague);
She turned me off when she seemed to loose basic reasoning and focused more energy on following the unreasonable left and beltway as they focused more and more of their anger on PBO rather than the gop;
I remember the shock I felt at Maddow trying to :
- demean (in a segment which she re-created the Oval Office and “TOLD” PBO what he “should have said” )
- relentlessly attacking PBO (on everything almost same way as fox) - because he would not hurry up and change DADT by executive order
- pump and give an eternal platform to the attacks from the left (Moore and that soldier who would tie him self on the WH fence - instead of congress, GG and the Snowden-addicted crowd );
- bringing all those nutty illogical and unrealistic people on the left to attack PBO (even though the math in the house and senate meant that conservative Dems would never sign onto some policies PBO favored);
- constantly criticizing PBO’s record on equality and giving very little credit a POTUS who had done so much on the LGBT rights ;
now I never know what to expect from Maddow;
I just wait for others to watch, I praise her for the great segments she does but I do not bother my blood pressure when she choose to go unrealistically nutty
I agree with you. In fact, I used to record Maddow, Ed and Rev. Al but only record the Rev now because I do not like some segments. I will not give them the consistent rating for the entire show.
We haven’t turned on MSNBC….or hardly any TV in weeks. We watch local news for the weather forecast, but don’t watch either the network news or cable. Our lives are calmer.
MSNBC really grew during the last three years of the GWB time. They pounded him regularly with facts and passion. When they got a president who stood for what they had advocated, they didn’t know how to behave. Afraid of being called “obamabots” they totally lost their way, except for Keith Olbermann. I still believe he was fired because of his strong monologue the night Gabby Giffords was shot, blaming the right wing gun culture. I don’t believe it had anything to do with his small donation to a political candidate.
That firing was the writing on the wall for other hosts. They got so used to being against, they didn’t know how to advocate or be even handed.

Axelrod is citing an AP-GFK poll as “every bit of evidence?” The same AP-GFK poll which, just as the ACA passed the 6M enrollment mark and was rapidly moving towards 7M, claimed that support for the ACA was “dwindling” with only 26% approval.
The STRONGEST predictor of this year’s turnout is last year’s turnout, not GOP-sponsored vote-suppressing polls.

The evidence for “stronger GOP turnout” simply is not there. When all they have to show are stupid biased polls that have been shown time and again to be wrong, why do we insist on buying their crap?
One of the favorite Depress the vote frames is that POTUS won’t be on the 2014 ballot.
Going by the energy level and schedule and tenor of The President’s recent appearances, the democratic doubters may want to revisit their faulty assumptions.

I don’t think it’s a good strategy to use bad polling data and pretend that GOP is winning to order to get Dems motivated. In fact I think it’s a poor one. And the GOPmedia loves it, because it benefits the GOP more than it does the Dems. If people are given facts about the goings-on in congress, the policies, and things that matter to them, they will make informed decisions at the voting both.
Correct and timely information given to the public almost always benefits the Democrats, which is why the media works so hard to spread false information or keep the truth away from the public for as long as possible.
You will get no argument from me on this one, Hopef. Apart from the fact that I get annoyed when ANY Dem reuse GOP frames, I greatly favour giving people facts (politically). It’s ONE of the reasons PBO originally appealed to me - his speeches acknowledged that I have a working brain.

Congrats Judith! We celebrate our 43rd in June. And in 2 weeks I turn 68. When I really think about those numbers it is so hard to believe we have made it this long and I still think of myself as young. It is so great to be this age and appreciate all the PBO is doing and against such odds. We must keep working to take this country back from the rich and save it for the young. We’ll celebrate our 48th this June 24. Where has the time gone! We have survived two heart attacks, heart bypass surgery, stent implantation surgery, and finally a year and a half ago, pacemaker implantation, which made so much difference in the quality of my husband’s life, and therefore our lives. He is nine years older than I am, and I want to have him around as long as possible. I am so thankful for modern medicine!!!!
We also celebrate ours on June 24th; albeit only 42 years!
