Trump is intentionally appointing horribly unqualified individuals to various key cabinet positions so he can destroy government, which is a longterm Conservative goal. Hoping that Democratic Senators do the right thing and vote against them even if their votes aren’t enough to stop the confirmations.

We will be less safe than we have ever been on 1/20/2017. All of our enemies, everyone who wants to do us harm from outright killings as many of us as possible to ending our influence (62 million voters helped to bring this about) around the world. This clown is scrapping the bottom of the barrel to fill important positions.Left unchecked, their ignorance, arrogance, and greed will be our downfall.

Somebody tweeted that the T-rumps will dance to Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” at some ball somewhere … so I went to look to see how Nancy Sinatra felt about it. She hasn’t commented on that, yet, but I know she’s a strong Democrat and her T/L has several tweets about her appreciation for Mrs. Obama and our dear President. And this one, which made me laugh:

Hi JoBoomer, Still can’t post my comment! I rewrote it too! Oh well, I remain frustrated.

I remember seeing Nancy Sinatra say in a tweet not long ago, that her father would have detested DT’s racism.

    Hi TOD,

I wrote a lengthy love letter to you all, thanking each of you by name, from Chips our founder, to Nerdy our current Blogger in Chief, to even AMK.

I thanked each participant, frequent and occasional, personally, for what each of you has brought to me through your participation in this epic, unforgettable, historical blog.

Unfortunately, Word Press has prevented me posting it in seemingly any fashion or from any device.

I am sad that I must give up sharing my individual and heartfelt thanks with you all, but, the main point of my post was to say that, thanks to this place and each of your contributions, big and small, I did not miss a minute, not a law passed, not an executive order, not a picture, not a YouTube, not a press conference, not a state dinner, not one bad-assed, elegant, brilliant, funny, touching and life-changing moment of this amazing Presidency.

For that I am grateful to you all,

I will be following PBO in whatever he does in the future and will be praying and sending light to all those working toward a more compassionate, tolerant, inclusive, prosperous, just and loving world. I know my fellow TODers will be among them.

God bless each and every one of you,
    With love and thanks,
    MadameSoph

    http://www.nationalmemo.com/trump-created-new-womens-movement/

WASHINGTON — When Marin Alsop was 9 years old, her father took her to see Leonard Bernstein direct the New York Philharmonic. The next day, she got a bracing response when she told her violin teacher she wanted to be a conductor. She couldn’t. She was a girl.

Today, Alsop is music director and conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Yet despite her own ability to break through that glass ceiling, the 2016 election showed her that one crucial one remains in place.

“We thought we had achieved things, but they weren’t sustained,” she said.

“Some young women probably didn’t realize how stacked the deck is against women in our world,” Alsop pointed out. “This is how it’s been historically. We think, ‘Oh, here’s a breakthrough,’ and then the door slams shut even harder.”

Not only did the first female presidential nominee of a major political party lose after her victory was taken for granted, but she lost to a man caught on tape boasting about groping women. Now the sadness, alarm and ensuing determination that many young American women felt after the door-slam of the 2016 election have become catalysts for a resurging women’s movement.

“We all assumed that it was time for a woman to have this opportunity, and that it was obvious,” added Alsop. “It’s galvanized people.”

    Good morning, NW and TODville.

President Obama has done his last interview with the Keepin’ It 1600 crew at their new space, POD Save America. It hasn’t officially been released yet so no separate direct link but if you want to listen to it now, go here and scroll down near the bottom and you’ll see it listed at the top in a box with their collected set of podcasts:

    https://getcrookedmedia.com/here-have-a-podcast-78ee56b5a323#.arhfmq547

It’s a fun conversation. POTUS is loose and reflective and positive.

I’ll post the direct link when they release it.

I know where it came from, but totally interesting, yet not surprising:)

    http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/1/11/1619079/-Comparing-Presidential-Administrations-by-Arrests-and-Convictions-A-Warning-for-Trump-Appointees

As Obama’s administration winds to a close, that remains true. Not one criminal indictment for anyone in the Obama administration over the entire eight years of his tenure. In fact, it is the only Presidential administration since Watergate to end with zero criminal indictments.

The GOP leadership in the Senate is trying to ram through as many as Trump’s controversial nominees as quickly as possible. Most of them have not yet completed FBI security clearance checks or ethics reviews by the United States Office of Government Ethics, something that OGE Director Walter M. Shaub, Jr. has said in a letter has never happened in the four decades since the OGE was established.

This actually puts Trump’s nominees at personal considerable risk. The OGE serves to protect them from potential violations of ethics laws. An ethical review before Senate confirmation allows them to address potential ethical conflicts by, for example, divesting themselves of their stock holdings or even withdrawing their nomination. But if an ethical violation is discovered after confirmation, it could result in criminal indictments and potential jail sentences for those individuals.

If Obama’s administration is considered to be the least scandal-ridden,….. (more at the link)
