Now entering my 85th year on the planet, there is no end to my gratitude for our brilliant, compassionate, transformative President Obama for bringing back hope that was so decimated by the the losses of JFK, MLK, RFK. There is, as well, no end to my gratitude for you, Chips, and the simply wonderful community you have created here. I come here daily, actually several times a day, for news, laughter and the awesome lessons you demonstrate in how to maintain a truly diverse, close knit community

Hey Don, thatās like saying, no day begins until your Birthday. Time is Time. Time doesnāt begin in NY, it begins at that moment of creation. Great Britain didnāt believe in no other time but GMT.

President Barack Obamaās bid to assert himself in his final year will begin with long-awaited executive actions on gun control which are expected to be released next week, shortly after he returns to Washington.
The White House is putting finishing touches on several measures in an effort to make progress on curbing gun violence, an issue the president and close aides have found frustratingly intractable, before the race to replace him enters prime time.
According to gun industry insiders and others familiar with the proposals, the changes include requiring an expanded number of small-scale gun sellers to be licensedāand therefore conduct background checksāwhenever selling a weapon. This wouldnāt close the so-called gun show loophole, though it has the potential to narrow it.
The administration is also expected to impose tighter rules for reporting guns that get lost or stolen on their way to a buyer.

Thanks, AMK. This will have people on the right screaming and hurling vile insults at our president. It will also very cannily take up air/media space that would otherwise be dedicated to incessant bile from the R candidates. I wouldnāt be surprised if PBO has a big controversial action coming in each month up to the election, so that he literally ‘drownsā out the trump/Cruz/Rubio insanity.
At this rate, the letter F will be gone from vocabulary by next year end.
it will also go along way to influence what the DEM Presidential Candidates do as well..
My hope is that this does not end up in court…as was his executive actions around Immigration Reform..
More reason to make sure that a DEM is in the White House…executive actions can be withdrawn by the next administration…

The National Museum of African American History and Culture will open its doors in Washington, DC, in 2016, after years of planning, fundraising and political wrangling.
Congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis tells the BBC that it is significant that the museum will be located on the National Mall, or “Americaās front porch”, as it will sit near such other landmarks as the Lincoln Memorial, Congress and the White House.
The Museum will feature artefacts and exhibitions that explore the African American experience from “slavery to the present”.
