Of course Bernie Sanders wants to blow the system up, it is the same system by the way that has allowed him to sit on his ass up in Washington for thirty years and accomplish nothing of note. For all our lives black people have been told that in order to change the system you must do it from the inside, which is what President Obama has done. And now here comes Bernie Sanders preaching revolution, President Obama didn’t need a revolution to bring about Obamacare, he didn’t need a revolution to get Iran to abandon its nuclear ambitions and give up its nuclear material. President Obama didn’t need a revolution to end DADT and to usher in marriage equality, nor did he need a revolution to change our disastrous policy against Cuba. I don’t recall any speech that President Obama has made that he has used the word “revolution.” So now you can throw the phrase “revolution” onto the same pile of trash that “make America great again” rests on.

Seriously though, she won’t need a ‘coin toss’ in SC or thereafter … will be interesting to observe how she and her campaign deal with Senator Sanders during the next couple of weeks … will inform us as to if she learned anything from her self-inflicted loss of integrity during Feb - May, 2008.

Well I think every mistake is being addressed from 2008. I think the sqeeker in Iowa was helpful to Clinton from the point of view that she is not inevitable or doesn’t have to work for the votes. Also calling her names has only worked against the Sanders campaign. Reminds us all too much of the “you lie” stuff with our President.

      I just came across this!

      http://www.rawstory.com/2016/02/you-lost-150-years-ago-naacp-crushes-georgia-governor-for-silence-on-gopers-kkk-rebranding/
The Georgia chapter of the NAACP lashed out at Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal (R) this week after he refused to condemn a state lawmaker for praising the Ku Klux Klan.

During an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution last month, state Rep. Tommy BeMont (R) accused those who want to remove Civil War symbols of “cultural terrorism.”

BeMont argued that the KKK had been unfairly maligned because it “was not so much a racist thing but a vigilante thing to keep law and order.”

“It made a lot of people straighten up,” he insisted. “I’m not saying what they did was right. It’s just the way things were.”

On Tuesday, members of Georgia’s NAACP chapter pointed out that Gov. Nathan Deal had refused rebuke the lawmaker’s “continued assertion of white supremacy.” “Are you on the side of those neo-confederates who want to glorify a lost cause or are you on the side of Georgia that wants to move forward?” NAACP President Francys Johnson said. “Which side are you on, Gov. Deal?”

“These sorts of ridiculously extreme comments defending the indefensible, the murderous, thuggish band of anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-god-fearing KKK is just beyond absurd.”

Johnson added: “These are individuals who are trying to relaunch an effort to win a war they lost 150 years ago. And that’s sad, and that’s pathetic.”

The NAACP warned that there could be “no middle ground” for Deal.

“He must make a statement about whether he supports this or not,” Johnson observed.

CNN BREAKING: Hillary Clinton has won the Iowa Democratic caucuses, according to final results from the Iowa Democratic Party. She just edges Bernie Sanders in the total of state delegate equivalents awarded Monday night.

Clinton earlier Tuesday told a crowd of cheering supporters that she was “thrilled” to be in New Hampshire “after winning Iowa.”

A senior aide to Sanders told CNN early Tuesday that the campaign would ask the party to provide more information from specific precincts, given the extreme closeness of the Iowa caucuses.

On the Republican side, Ben Carson told Fox News after his fourth-place finish that Iowa victor Ted Cruz needs to fire campaign staffers for falsely telling caucusgoers that the retired neurosurgeon was planning to quit the race.

The Cruz campaign seized on the news late Monday that Carson would not travel directly from Iowa to New Hampshire or South Carolina, where the next primaries will be held. Carson’s campaign said he was just going home to Florida to “get a fresh set of clothes.”

Cruz’s statement on Tuesday said his team should have sent around the Carson campaign’s follow-up statement: “This was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson.”

Clinton speaks to Wolf Blitzer today on CNN at 1 p.m. ET. Watch CNN’s New Hampshire Democratic town hall live at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, and follow complete coverage of the presidential campaign on CNN TV, CNN.com and CNN Mobile.

They say Hillary only got 14% of the young voters 18-29 years of age.
    That’s not good at all.
It’s the young voters that are coming out in droves for Bernie.
And I still can’t figure out why?

    • 51 donna dem 4 obama
      February 2, 2025 at 1:39 pm

      You can’t?

President Obama in his unprecedented campaign of 2008 only got 22% and throughout the entire primary they only accounted for 14% of the voters.

The millennials want (and they are not known to like incremental change):

      $15.00 per hour (Sanders check)
      Legalize Marijuana nationally (Sanders check)
Free college and student loan forgiveness (Sanders check)
Single payer health care. They think its free & don’t understand how much their taxes will increase (Sanders check)
To a lesser degree the whole Wall Street is bad thing but they buy that lock, stock and barrel as well. (Sander check check)

Many states with DEM governors are going for higher minimum wages city by city, not so much in GOP states. PBO can do it for Federal workers but the GOP governors and run cities won’t do it and even if we have a DEM president there is nothing he can do without a DEM House and Senate.

Whites get addicted to heroin more so than minorities. It will probably also include meth too which has been an epidemic for some time now. crack cocaine was treated by police enforcement, lock em up and through away the keys. Cocaine users got treatment.

      • 61 GGail
        February 2, 2025 at 2:35 pm

Crack became possible because the average black folk couldn’t afford cocaine and the system wanted to take the money of the average black person too. Then after you get them hooked on the stuff, then you bust them and lock ’em up.

If marijuana is made legal nationwide, the number of arrest in poor communities will go down. Then who are they gonna lock up then?

As the presidential contest moves to New Hampshire, it’s unclear if the Granite State polls will be any more precise than the Iowa polls. What is clear, said Davis, is the public and the press need to be “a little less excitable and a little more discerning” in how we digest such surveys.

Indeed, Walter said New Hampshire polls may be even more unreliable.

“This is a state that is notorious for breaking late and people deciding late in the game,” she said.

    Re: New Hampshire:

On the Republican side: Trump will win but it will be close. Look for Christie and Kasich to do well in NH also. Those two have poured everything into NH. I don’t think that Cruz will do as well as the pundits want to think. I don’t see him winning over those NH Independents. He used his organization in Iowa to locate the Evangelicals and turned them out to vote in that caucus. He doesn’t have a demographic like that to reach out too in NH. The medias wonder boy Rubio will come in 3rd of 4th again and again the media will declare him a big winner.

For the Dems: Bernie will win but it won’t be by 20 points. He’ll win by 5 pts. She and Bill are well liked in that state (as was proven in 2008) so I wouldn’t completely discount her. Watch and see if new polls show this race tightening by the end of the week. Her voters will come out but with Bernie having his home state next door and the demographics of that state favoring him he’s probably a sure bet to win.

The Republican race will be exciting to watch on election night. 2nd place is going to be real barn burner IMO.

Here’s what Bernie misses: GOP is now a “team” and people vote their team, regardless of how well they are doing. Dems have gone to great lengths to be about individual issues, and have let the “team” boat sink. It is their own doing, since Reagan started peeling away the “white voter”.

Dems or Dem-leaning have allowed an inner chaos to take over: if you’re not in love, you don’t vote. PBO may have made sure they caught my cancer, but I want free college, so I won’t vote, and so on. We have allowed the “team” to be demonized, as if your one vote is some kind of transaction that should buy you everything you want in a candidate, instead of being a part of something bigger. Damn, even the dumb GOP gets THAT. They vote the team, and with each election they have moved the needle farther and father red.

So we are to elect someone who isn’t into any kind of “team”, and has been through most of his career, hostile to the party. I hear it from his supporters all day long: they are THRILLED that the Dems may be destroyed, blind to the vacuum that such lunacy would create.

PBO was inclusive. If the Dem leadership had had any backbone or vision, it would have pushed that during midterms. PBO listened to alternative points of view, to the struggles of many on a myriad of levels. Bernie screams. “If you don’t see it my way, you’re not important.”

That is how children think. It is a disaster in a world leader, or someone who wants to become one.
