God Bless President Obama!!! I pray for his re-election!! I hope that people will wake up and smell the coffee that he is the only leader who can continue to bring progress to our country.
Yes I’ve been really busy and dealing with some health issues. But I still try to check in and get my daily dose of TOD. It’s the only way I can get up to speed on what’s REALLY going on
She’s hoping for a Huntsman surge while pretending not to. Her Ron Paul fantasy has been squashed and she’s looking for another Republican savior to secretly vote for in the privacy of the voting booth.
The commentators are all for keeping the race going as long as possible and stirring up excitement so they have an easier time getting ratings. You can tell that from when Lawrence told one of his guests not to predict the race would be over if Mitt won both NH and SC.
The Club for Growth, custodian of the gods of cutthroat laissez-faire capitalism, blasts Newt Gingrich for attacking Romney’s private equity awesomeness.
I’ll have a large bag of popcorn with just a little butter please……
PIOUS BALONEY ANYONE?
=======================
Well, it looks like pious baloney is about to go viral. Newt and his team will be launching a website called Stop Romney’s Pious Baloney. This along with Willards “I Like To Fire People” ringtone from the Perry campaign is almost more than I can bare. This is beyond entertaining.
I love listening to our President speak. I am looking forward till FLOTUS being in the public Wednesday. I am hoping we will be able to see her speak .
Wow President Obama looking smooth, cool, and confident as usual!! He is so disciplined, I envy how he is able to keep his mind on what’s truly important and swat away all the ridiculous stuff. Even if Willard is the nominee, the President will crush him in the debates, leaving Romney stuttering like the idiotic gasbag that he is.
Weren’t the know-it-all Press saying yesterday that he isn’t in the top three Presidents as far as charisma? He’s got fifty times more charisma than Clinton ever had. I never understood what people saw in him. This picture of our President oozes charisma.
I swear he seems to gain energy and fire from the ppl who come to see him.
Bush always had his sanitizer handy and never was shy about using it. The picture of Bush wiping his hands on someone’s shirt during a visit to Haiti (? was it) is what Robme reminds me of. They both seem repulsed by the ‘little people’. PBO is the antithesis of that kind of mindset.

Jonathan Alter is picking up on the GOP enthusiasm gap right here:
Been to Huntsman, Gingrich, Santorum and Romney NH events in last 2 days. They were all weak compared to days of yore in GOP.— Jonathan Alter (@jonathanalter) January 10, 2025
I really hope that the other Republican candidates surge to take away Romney’s lead. I want it to be a battle all the way to the convention. I am hoping that Santorum, Paul or Gingrich can really take a chunk out of Romney’s big fat LYING ass.
I don’t know. This republican campaign is run too much like a reality show for me. Robme was the favorite until twitter & blogs started asking for more drama & blood. We were all saying how boring and predictable it had become. then Viola! today lots of mud slinging. Yes it could be coincidence. Or it could be that the ratings gods decided to add drama to increase interest and viewership.
Ah, so you’ll be a witness for the prosecution, Yardarm? Well, don’t be surprised if my people mention ‘snakes’ in their cross-examining, just be prepared, it’s gonna get dirty.
Newton must really have bought into the fantasy of having his Lincoln Douglas debates and then basking in applause as he swept into the WH. Now that the fantasy is threatened and he will have to go back to hawking books, he’s angry and striking out. He was a nasty piece of work to begin with and he intends to go out being nastier than ever. All the masks in the clown car are coming off now and we are seeing all the true ugliness stripped bare.
I’d vote for Snoop Dogg President long before I’d vote for Ron Paul. At least Snoop has actually done things for the community, coaching his son’s little league baseball team.
Snoop and Willie Nelson should know to not have drugs on them in the southern states….they’re just laying in wait for them to come into their state to bust them.
STUPID! A black man getting arrested in the South is like someone getting arrested in a foreign country…he better be careful, his crazy, high as a kite azz can end up on a chain gang…the South/Texas is not LA. As my mama used to say, “there comes a time for all things…” Snoop is too old for such foolishness…

“Aaron Bennett, a restaurant owner from Laconia, says if Paul doesn’t get the nomination, he might just write him in on the ballot in November. And if Paul runs as an independent, he adds, “I don’t care if that takes votes away from the Republicans.”
I think most Paul voters DO share that sentiment. I would say that Paul is the Right’s Nader, but he has a much bigger following than Ralph. Go rogue, Ron!
I keep hearing that Romney is comfortably leading in South Carolina but I am just not feeling that.
Iowa and New Hampshire voters are vastly different from SC and I don’t think they are going to be as hospitable to his say anything politics.
It will be entertaining to watch venture capitalist, Massachusetts Mitt morph into ranchin’ huntin’ and fishin’ Mitt as he tries to out-cowboy Rick Perry.
I heard somebody joke today that Perry is a “non smoker’s Marlboro Man.” He’s also a non-person’s choice for the R nomination. Mr. Ed would have a better chance (too old of a reference?) (ha!).
Just got off a national volunteer Obama campaign call. Everyone seems like family and I’ve never met any of them. I am looking forward to fighting to re-elect the President with all my new campaign brothers and sisters.
I was just about to ask that very question: can he get any better looking? Imagine if he was really left alone to get his work done, without the never ending hack hack hack of the ignorant opposition, man, would he glow!

1. the offense of acting to overthrow one’s government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2. a violation of allegiance to one’s sovereign or to one’s state.
3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.
Allen West apparently doesn’t have the sense to be ashamed of himself.
OMG Could you imagine a Dem saying this during a repub president? Where the hell is the outrage? Can anyone tell me if he is a member of congress now. I think this has got to be illegal!
Sorry, Mitt, you and your staff can whine and complain from now until President Obama is re-elected. NO! We’re not gonna back off or back down! If you can’t run with the “Big Dogs,” you should have stayed on the porch!~
LOL! I got that phrase from my grandmother who was a sassy, Southern black woman! I remember her saying it frequently when we were kids, and it covered a wide range of foolish behavior on our part. I shortened the phrase because what she usually said was, “If you can’t run with the “Big Dogs,” you should have just stayed on the porch and barked.”~
Ed Shultz was on his show advocating Hillary Clinton to be the Vice Presidential nominee…saying that it was a way to prepare for 2017…i like the ticket the way it is…thank you very much,,,,.this Hillary Thing is nutzo
No, it’s the other way around. Biden gets well-deserved respect from the one he needs to get it from - President Obama. VP Biden is secure in his role as VP and is here to stay. On the other hand, the poor media pundits are flailing around trying to stir up controversy because they are desperate.
Morning all, morning hopefruit. I agree with you. As I said……”..he gets no respect from these devils”. We know he gets mad respect from PBO and definitely the rest of us.
When he said that he would be talking about the “this Hillary Thing” I turned the channel…I refuse to get upset anymore…these people have one agenda, RATINGS…they will do and say anything to fill the airwaves 24/7…I got to take care of my “one good nerve”…so I have learned to turn them off when they start that “nutzo” talk!
Chipsticks, never mind about posting only the last few minutes of the President’s speech, the last few minutes of any of President Obama’s rousing speeches is ALWAYS the best. How I love them!
PS — Clawing my way through the last little bit of my piece on big birds at DragonGoose Farm, what a relief, I’ve been struggling off and on for months on this thing! Soon I’ll be freed up to say something coherent on TOD.
Just popped in to say hello. I left early this morning and did not get home until after eight. I really wanted to thank chips for all she does with the blog…especially the last thread with my beloved Mavs, the President of the United State and my cousin Mark Cuban. The pictures were awesome as well as the video. THANK YOU CHIPS.
Rachel lost me tonight forever. She has some real Hunstman Love and has that ADD person on, Dylan Ratigan. Then there is ED…Hillary for VP…who needs the right when we have the left. I am very far left but even I know the President DOES NOT legislate.
I watched the New Cake Boss. Looks like I didn’t miss anything with Rachel. She did this kind of crap before the 2008 election…..veiled tearing down of PBO. I am not a big fan.
Hiya Hopefruit, I’ve put that pic in the top right of the sidebar - click it once to see a bigger version, and click it again to see an even bigger version …. then click ‘print’!
that’s one of my absolute favs, of which there are many, I know. But this is a fav among favs! Nice job you did with it. I love seeing it in the sidebar. Good addition
I loved this guy, he got in DR face and called him out and DR walked away. Dylan Ratigan did the same thing he did on Rachel Maddow he did when Randi Rhoads had him on her show, he dominates the conversation where no one else can contribute. I hope Randi never has him on her show because HE IS A FRAUD!
Dylan Radigan was just bloviating on the Rachel Maddow Show about money in politics. He’s basically hawking a book that I will not name. He made sure to point out that both sides are equally guilty. He then proceeded to take over the interview. He was rambling. He is insufferable. I don’t know what Rachel was thinking. But then again, she keeps harping on Ron Paul, Jon Huntsman, and Buddy Romer. So I guess having Dylan Radigan on makes sense.
I wondered the same thing. I was on the treadmill so I left it on……mostly just to see if I could make any sense of what he was saying. Answer: Nope, not so much.
I was watching O’Donnell and a soon as he said, coming up is a new book on the “Obama’s marriage, I turned away. I refuse to watch anyone dicussing that book.

We haven’t even gotten tot eh second Presidential contest and it is clear that the media is suffering from 2008 campaign withdrawal symptoms. You know, “Once you go Barack, You can’t go back” . They’ve been traipsing from campaign event to campaign event like zombies seeking thrills, and coming away totally bored with the GOP Klown kar. that is the reason why they are floating Hillary as VP. They want to relive the excitement of 2008.
PBO changed the entire trajectory of campaigns such that things will never be the same. I suggest media klowns savor the General election since it will be PBO’s last campaign. They are never gonna see another palpable candidacy like PBO’s.
They should get their noses out of the corporate puppeteers asses long enough to admit that they REALLY REALLY miss PBO on the stump. He gave them a reason to live. Now they misguidedly vilify him as he works selflessly to straighten out our bankrupt ship of state.
Remember Obama drawing 50,000 - 80,000 people at campaign events in 2008? Remember the amazing visual spectacle that provided? Well, so does the media. And when they are confronted with that reality again vs. Willard Romney trying to sound like a human being in front of a few hundred people, well….it won’t be pretty.

The FLOTUS is a secret weapon. (well, not so secret) She is popular, eminently approachable, and a talented politico (and draw) in her own right. No disrespect to Mrs Romney, but Michelle is a Major Leaguer, while Mrs Romney has never even swung a bat.
She has the capability to fundraise (on her own) as well as campaign for her husband (on her own) and draw HUGE crowds doing so. I would venture to guess that during the heat of the campaign Michelle Obama would be able to draw a larger crowd, by herself(!), than Mitt Romney. That’s just simply not fair to Willard.
I watched this video and immediately gave some cash to Obama / Biden 2012. We need to win.
At a bare minimum, if Obama simply wins every state Kerry won, PLUS Ohio, nad he gets a second term. (And somehow I don’t see Romney the “Job Cremator” taking rust belt Ohio…with an assist from Gov Kasich!) But that is not enough. The President needs to win in a route, sending a message that the racism and hatred of this country the GOP has been peddling has been rejected.
We need to make this happen. Let’s all GIVE TILL IT HURTS to the Obama campaign. We can do this.
Thank you PJ for your just perfectly selected quotes. Very fitting tonight. I do remember hearing and seeing him when he said that, and I wrote it down in my “Affirmation of Quiet Meditational Moments for 2012.”
Thanks you our beloved Chipsticks for this beautiful haven, “The Obama Diary”. You are the best, Chips. I was standing at my kitchen counter tonight and you came to my mind so I asked for angels of love to surround you and our TOD family. We are going to be just fine, and we are going to reelect President Barack Obama and Joe Biden in 2012.
We are so blessed. Good night my dear TOD family. Hitting the pillow early tonight. I love you all so very much. Good thoughts to Fred and Mom. (((((((((Hugs))))))))HZ
Rick Santorum Selling Branded Sweater Vests For $100 Each
The man who made sweater vests a household name is selling his own version of the garment for the low price of a $100 campaign donation.
Rick Santorum told CNN’s Erin Burnett the sleeveless top is his “Second Amendment vest” because it offers the “right to bare arms.”
The theme here is that Newt Gingrich has decided to hit his opponents where it hurts, even if with the same attacks liberals would make. Giveaways like the Pittsburgh stadiums are not exactly a liberal policy. In fact, the business the stadiums generate (or that their owners say they do) is an excuse team owners use to get taxpayers to pay the bill in the same way that corporations get better treatment from Republicans when they ask for lower tax rates in order to create a business-friendly environment. Similarly, the attacks on Romney’s record in private equity is identical to the liberal attack on what conservatives often see as a sacrosanct industry.
But Newt is not the candidate he was this fall. Now he says he would vote for Obama over Ron Paul, and is helping Democrats by lobbing liberal critiques at both Romney and Santorum.
Mitt Romney has tried to portray himself as a regular guy in campaign speeches and meet-and-greet events with voters but his penchant for gaffes has undermined the effort, which Democrats plan to exploit in a general election match-up.
His remark Monday that he likes to be able “fire people” is the latest awkward statement that will haunt him if he wins the GOP nomination.
Democrats on Monday described the statement as one of several “silver bullets” they plan to use in the summer and fall, if Romney becomes the Republican nominee.
(Reuters) - U.S. authorities are moving toward taking legal action against Wegelin & Co, which could lead to an indictment of one of Switzerland’s last pure private banks, on charges that it enabled wealthy Americans to evade taxes, according to two persons with knowledge of the case.
Negotiations in the case have reached a critical stage, with an indictment possible though the bank is seeking a deferred prosecution agreement, which would be less damaging. The outcome depends on how prosecutors, the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Treasury Department agree to treat the matter, the sources said.
Founded in 1741, Wegelin is one of Switzerland’s oldest banks. An indictment of it would be a blow to a national tradition of banking secrecy that dates back to the Middle Ages. It would be a step forward for a U.S. crackdown on offshore tax evasion by Americans through Swiss banks.
The DOJ is NOT messing around on this….I read this story last month.
Some 11 Swiss banks must hand over thousands of client names and pay billions in fines to avoid tax evasion prosecution in the United States, according to reports.
Swiss newspapers claim the deadline for the US ultimatum passed on Tuesday night. However, banks are keeping tight lipped over claims that they would also have to provide all correspondence with offshore clients over the past 11 years.
The Department of Justice (DoJ) has been steadily closing a net around Swiss banks ever since UBS admitted in 2009 to helping wealthy US citizens evade taxes. The Swiss authorities were then compelled to water down banking secrecy laws by handing over the names of nearly 4,500 UBS clients.
The results are in for #Dixville notch. Three voted for Obama. One for Gingrich, two for Huntsman, one for Paul and two for Romney. Tie?— Donna Brazile (@donnabrazile) January 10, 2025
Residents in the small town of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire were the first to cast ballots in the state’s presidential primary election just after midnight on Tuesday.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman each won 2 votes of the 9 cast in the contest. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) each received 1 vote. Three Democratic ballots were cast for President Barack Obama.
According to the Associated Press, the group of 9 registered voters in Dixville Notch comprised three Republicans, two Democrats and four undeclared voters.
Dixville Notch has voted first in the state’s primary election since 1960. Town clerk Rick Erwin told Granite State-based station WMUR ahead of the contest, “It’s great that they respect the tradition.”
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. - Calvin Coolidge (1872 - 1933)
PBO has begun. Let’s get busy for real.
Why are the pundits always so wrong? They say he can’t run on his record. He can’t be inspirational like 2008. He can’t talk about change because he didn’t change DC etc, etc, ect. Yet, it seems to me that PBO WILL run on his record. He WILL be inspirational. And he WILL still talk about the type of change you can believe in. I haven’t watched the full clip of the speech that Donna posted but the just the clip of the end of the speech. You can tell he’s not afraid to prove the pundits wrong. Of course this campaign will be different than 2008 because he’s an incumbent but they are not of afraid of using some of the themes they used in the last campaign. PBO is so consistent. I love it!
And this Hillary talk…they need to go somewhere and have a seat. Ride or Die Joe is not going anywhere! These people just want to stir up trouble on the Democratic side so they can have interesting and exciting copy to write. PBO will not play their game…He hasn’t done it so far so why start now? Putting Hillary on the ticket would be a sign of weakness for the Obama campaign and they are not weak or in trouble, especially if the economy picks up some steam…
MB, you answered the question. They want to stir up trouble, create anxiety among PBO supporters and depress enthusiasm. Since we’re on to them, there is absolutely no need to listen to them.
I get so ticked off when I hear them talk about “well you know PBO SHOULD do the clinton/biden switch oh and HERE’S HOW” No. I agree they are just talking to make money and buzz. Until PBO says IF such a thing would happen - it’s all a bunch of hooeyy and noise.
They do it to inspire fear and uncertainty in his supporters and to make themselves seem omnipotent. Remember also that this is a job for them. PBO always tells his troops to ignore them and to press on. In 2008, it was not until the Sunday before the general election that George Will (ugh) and other pundits admitted that Obama would win in a landslide. Only people like Chris Wallace held on to the bitter end. All of today’s pundits know the truth, but they can’t sell it if they want to keep their jobs and their false relevance.
No don’t listen to them, what we need to do is help register people to vote. Starting with family, friends, neighbors, help get them ready to vote, if they need a ID help them get that ID, we have to show up to vote better than 2008 and then we will sit back and see what those jackass pundits have to say.
My one criticism of Obama is his Clintonesque economic team. I would have liked to have seen a few more progressives. The notion thatHillary would have been some liberal firebrand is absurd.
Well I tend to listen to the real people, the regular people, you know the ones Bain Capitol step all over. Stevie Ratner most likely got some profit from Bain. I would love to tell Ratner to tell what a terrific company Bain was to the people who lost their jobs.
First of all, I doubt whether anyone besides Mrs. Ratner cares what he says. Second, Bain may very well have done its function-delivering profit for investors-well. What Bain did not do is help people. So when Robney tries to pretty up the firm’s purpose by saying it created jobs, he’s lying . That’s the point, not whether the company performed it’s function well. Robney spent all of his career in money creation and when he tried governing in Massachusetts he was lousy at it. That’s not a record that qualifies him to be president.
Hello! I really do not know if this is the appropriate way to contact the creator of this blog, but I could see no other way to leave you some feedback (I am pretty blog-dumb).
Anyway, thank you for this blog. It is awesome. It is positive, full of beautiful photos, videos, and of course a bit of humor and fun. After reading some of the comments here just now, I can also see that this is a place of sanity. No one is holding the president to an unrealistic ideal here, but rather, choosing to praise his accomplishments rather than to criticize his mistakes (which are few in comparison to other presidents!)- so refreshing!
I am grateful for this blog and those who follow it, as it is people like us who will ensure that Mr. Obama has a second term to make history as one of the most exquisite presidents this country has ever seen.
I am sure all the crazy baggers come around to stir up trouble, however, I just wanted to let you know that your work with this blog, as well as all the supporters here, who never turned their back on Mr. Obama or this country, are much-appreciated. Thank you!
President Obama’s re-election campaign appears to be picking up speed.
Just days after administration officials said Obama wouldn’t be doing much campaigning, the president appears to be doing just that and he’s using the New Hampshire primary to rev up his campaign.
And for the first time this year on Monday night, Obama took his first shot—albeit a light one- at Republicans campaigning in the Granite State: “The very core of what this country stands for is on the line. Don’t take my word for it, watch some of these debates that have been going on up there in New Hampshire,” the president said to laughter.

What you say about no enthusiasm for the President…..
With five votes, Mitt Romney was the winner in this tiny community, though President Barack Obama held his own with 10 votes.
At midnight, a total of 23 votes were cast in town hall for the first-in-the-nation presidential primary. Voting took two minutes and 26 seconds.
Republican Ron Paul captured four votes, Jon Huntsman two, and Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich received one each

Todd and Gregory on Today—-Lauer asking about Daley leaving, Todd said most of his duties had been taken over by Rouse, didn’t like living in D.C. etc., but Gregory wasn’t going to let it go at that. He said Daley’s departure was another sign of the dysfunction in the W.H., corroborating the book “about Michelle Obama” which also indicated friction and dysfunction within the administration. Gregory is a real piece of work. Detestable. And about objective as a RNC chairman.
Gregory is trying to impress somebody on the conservative side. Their is never a question that he does not go after the President. Guess we know who he is voting for?
Even though he finally “did his job” at the debate, he knows Romney was damaged so what better way to even the score than to try to damage PBO. He’s got to redeem himself and get back in the good graces of his corporate masters and the right wing.
Santorum fear mongering on Iran and nuclear weapons. Soon, nuclear weapons will be exploding in our cities if we dont send an ICBM at Tehren! Here we go again! Meh
Jovie, Santorum didn’t even answer the question about what would he do to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. I have yet to hear any of the Republicans answer the Iran question.
I guess Cain is going to give his grand endorsement this Thursday! I feel sorry for the endorsee.
Herman Cain will appear with FL U.S. Senate candidate Craig Miller for "major announcement" Thursday in Winter Park, campaign says.— Alex Leary (@learyreports) January 10, 2025
His “unorthodox endorsement”. Excitement!!! Why is he inserting himself again, and why are the media outlets more than happy to oblige? He’s everywhere again.
Bill I do hope you get some sleep in the coming nights. I will try to do so myself. It will be hard for us - anxiously waiting to hear that announcement…And then we can go on with our lives after Thursday.
Just listened to the short clip from last night! Loved it definitely felt shades of 08 looking so forward to 2012 so we can shut these morons up. Thanks for posting Ms. Chips and although I haven’t watched yet thanks Donna for posting whole video.
Thanks But alas, I wouldn’t know the first thing about gardening…Just saw it and thought it would make a pretty avatar with green being the color of “hope” and all…
Can someone remind me how the “Obama can’t connect with people” false meme originated? Morning Joke advanced it again today. It is so preposterous I can’t believe anyone can say that with a straight face. Are they forgetting that there are photos and videos to dispute that fake partisan charge—-millions of them? These lazy, unethical pundits believe they can spout any nonsense.
It’s just a Rove tactic. Romney is the one who is indisputably wooden and has made tons of gaffs trying to be the common man.
Not fooling anyone because as you say, there are reams and stacks of evidence that PBO is very much loved by so many. He has more than ample charisma and that drives them wild.
I mean really, is Sen. Shaheen really a Democrat? She just sits there and let Joe say the most incorrect shit possible. And somehow these people are supposed to back President Obama?
Don you watch Morning Joke, why not email Sen. Sheheen and ask her why she sat there and allow Joe to say incorrect shit and you didn’t correct him. I have always said that the Dems have given President Obama almost as much headache as the GOP. None of them had his back, you rarely saw any of them sitting on tv supporting him or his policies.
Newton Leroy said this morning that Willard’s Bain Capital invested $30 million in a company, then took out $180 million, and the company went bankrupt. That was the LBO model of the 80′s and 90′s. I don’t see how that can be overcome.
// MANCHESTER, N.H. — This presidential campaign has seven offices across New Hampshire, 20 staff members and more money than the rest of the candidates combined. Yet the news media are virtually ignoring it.
Yes, Barack Obama is also on today’s ballot (along with more than a dozen Democratic challengers, including Vermin Supreme of Rockport, Mass., and Craig “Tax Freeze” Freis of Lake Elsinore, Calif.) And although the only attention Obama’s been getting is bashing from Republicans, the president’s re-election campaign has been active for months — and it’s not going away after the primary, unlike those of his GOP rivals.
Vice President Joe Biden is using a high-tech setup with two-way communications to fire up multiple supporters at once today, as Obama himself did a week ago in Iowa. The Obama for America troops also are mobilizing in other states, including Ohio, where three offices are up and running. “We have a phenomenal field operation that is going on that is not aimed toward (today), but is aimed toward November,” said Ray Buckley, New Hampshire Democratic chairman. “Never before has a presidential campaign not left the day after the primary. //
This is what all the Republican SuperPacs can’t buy, Hope, dedicated people on the ground who keep on pressing on, month after month after month, growing their numbers and expanding the voter base. And the beauty of it all is that it flies under the radar like a super secret army building its power so when the strike comes, the opposition never knows what hit them.
Exactly…and you won’t find this dedicated army prostituting themselves on corporate cable TV..so SOME folks are left with a false impression about just how enthusiastic PBO’s supporters are. But as you said, it will become obvious when the time is appropriate.
Rant time! I’m sorry but I’m about to lose it, and please excuse my language. This shit is so fucked-up, first you got Sen. Sharrod Brown’s wife Connie Schultz talking shit about the first lady. And don’t think for one fucking second that Sen. Brown didn’t know what his wife was going to say. These motherfuckers stab the President in the back every goddamn chance they get. Where is the fucking NAACP and the Congressional Black Caucus standing up for President Obama, this shit infuriates me to no end. The ONLY person that backs President Obama is Al Sharpton, Al fucking Sharpton. I can’t even turn on the t.v. and find one fucking Democrat that backs President Obama without qualifying their support with the ever present “President Obama is doing a good job, but…..” either you support President Obama or not, I’m tired of this fucking wishy-washy ass support. President Obama is out there going fucking gray trying to bring is country back from the brink of total collapse and these fucking people that claim to be Democratic Leaders are falling all over themselves trying to distance themselves from President Obama. The shit has to stop!
*Chips, if you want to ban me I understand, you gotta do what you gotta do and I will accept it, but I’m not going to stand back and let these motherfuckers destroy President Obama.
Okay Don, will it do any good, I doubt it but here’s what I’m going to do. I am going to send Se. Brown a email and you should too. And tell him exactly what you are saying here. If his wife had a email I would send her afew words also.
Hey Don, you’ve articulated what many of here already feel..so don’t apologize. The thing I’ve noticed is that our President DOES have many, many supporters - but you won’t find them on Teevee (except for the occasional one-on-one interview). They are the ones engaged in the ground work, behind the scenes, setting up the OFA networks, calling voters, recruiting volunteers, manning the technology, working with the DNC to put out Ads.
The way I see it, the “Democrats” who appear on TV to damn the President with faint praise or to bash him are PROSTITUTES who have simply sold themselves to the highest bidder. They have no core, and it reflects poorly on THEM rather than on the President. And they usually end up destroying themselves in the process (e.g., Weiner, Grayson, Kucinich, Waters, …).
You are so right hopefruit2, I remember Congressmen Grayson being the Big Bad Democrat that used the bully pulpit to fight for everyone and he supposedly had the backbone that President Obama lacked. Now one year later and this guy is back in Boca Raton Florida doing god knows what.

Definite lack of taste. And don’t get me started with their “Man Up” commercials, like women don’t drink beer. I’m a woman, I love beer, and anything with the Miller label is watered-down crap.
I think pushback via emails and tweets do make a difference. I never watch early morning TV, but had I seen it I would have responded. These Democrats better get the idea that their support for President Obama is the one thing that may get them re-elected. Stabbing him in the back will not get them votes. Perhaps we all need to go on a full time push of these Democrats so that they begin to realize that we are watching and we care. No Republican Senator talked about GWB the way these talk about PBO. They bowed at every stinking word he said and seconded every stupid decision he made that got us where we are now. I think it’s up to us to push these Democrats. The more they get, they more they pay attention. When I worked for a Senator, many eons ago, we COUNTED responses….which side got the most. This is where Tea Party types push us around. We actually work, we don’t just sit around watching and writing.
Newt Gingrich intensified his attacks on Mitt Romney over his time as an executive at private equity firm Bain Capital, saying the company’s business model was “indefensible” because it “undermined capitalism” and calling some of its returns “suspicious.”
Speaking Tuesday in interviews on “Fox & Friends” and Bloomberg as New Hampshire primary voters headed to the polls, the former House Speaker outlined what he believed to be the difference between noble and ignoble methods of capitalism.
“Look at the one example from the Wall Street Journal story,” Gingrich said on Fox. “To put in $30 million and get back $60 million would have been a fabulous return. To put in $30 million and get back $90 million would be a fabulous return. Did they really need to take out $180 million if, leaving $30 [million] or $40 million, if the company would’ve survived, the people would’ve been employed, the jobs would’ve been there? These are places where they made money while the company went broke.”

God Bless President Obama!!! I pray for his re-election!! I hope that people will wake up and smell the coffee that he is the only leader who can continue to bring progress to our country.
Pinkbunny! Hi. I haven’t seen you in a while since I fled Daily Grudge. Hope all is well.
Hello FiredUpInCA! Long time no speak
Yes I’ve been really busy and dealing with some health issues. But I still try to check in and get my daily dose of TOD. It’s the only way I can get up to speed on what’s REALLY going on
Hey Pinkbunny. And we have to work while we pray!!!
Absolutely!! We have to work our butts off to get him re-elected!!! The future of our country is at stake
Let not our hearts be troubled. Obama/Biden WILL prevail.
It looks like Rachel Maddow is going to spend a lot of her show tonight on you guessed it JON HUNTSMAN.
Lol! This liberal press sucks! Its really bad!
She’s hoping for a Huntsman surge while pretending not to. Her Ron Paul fantasy has been squashed and she’s looking for another Republican savior to secretly vote for in the privacy of the voting booth.
You nailed it hopefruit2. I have just about had it with the media obsession with Jon Huntsman and Hillary Clinton being VP.
Predictable.
Yup.
As someone said on Twitter “they are actors on TV playing like they are progressives”.
The commentators are all for keeping the race going as long as possible and stirring up excitement so they have an easier time getting ratings. You can tell that from when Lawrence told one of his guests not to predict the race would be over if Mitt won both NH and SC.
They are not very good actors!
Club for Growth Explodes on Newt
The Club for Growth, custodian of the gods of cutthroat laissez-faire capitalism, blasts Newt Gingrich for attacking Romney’s private equity awesomeness.

PIOUS BALONEY ANYONE?
=======================

President Barack Obama smiles as he arrives on stage to speak at a campaign event in Washington January 9, 2012.
More soon
Thanks chips!
He’s adorable.
Ditto.
He smiles from the heart.
LunaSea,
Robme fits Romney to a T!

Jonathan Alter is picking up on the GOP enthusiasm gap right here:
I really hope that the other Republican candidates surge to take away Romney’s lead. I want it to be a battle all the way to the convention. I am hoping that Santorum, Paul or Gingrich can really take a chunk out of Romney’s big fat LYING ass.
That would be pleasant for us onlookers. They’re all liars.
Me too. I want mittens bloodied by the time of convention. I am even rooting for noot to be their nominee.
I don’t know. This republican campaign is run too much like a reality show for me. Robme was the favorite until twitter & blogs started asking for more drama & blood. We were all saying how boring and predictable it had become. then Viola! today lots of mud slinging. Yes it could be coincidence. Or it could be that the ratings gods decided to add drama to increase interest and viewership.
just thinking aloud….

I tried to post on this, but words failed me, utterly. Too soon after dinner for digestive pain!
Izonprize…I’m sooooo sorry. After posting I went to bed, and then I wake up this morning to find this!
Chips WHY? WHY oh WHY Chips?
Newton must really have bought into the fantasy of having his Lincoln Douglas debates and then basking in applause as he swept into the WH. Now that the fantasy is threatened and he will have to go back to hawking books, he’s angry and striking out. He was a nasty piece of work to begin with and he intends to go out being nastier than ever. All the masks in the clown car are coming off now and we are seeing all the true ugliness stripped bare.
And seeing as he has already lost, he has nothing left to lose, might as well take the whole flaming lot of them down with him, eh?
Dang who picked Newt’s scabs? Ruthless little man isn’t he? LOL and the DNC thanks him for helping out with the campaign.
He is on a suiicide/revenge mission….he does not expect to return…going to take Mitt down with him…..
that loud crasssssssh you hear is the sound of the “Good ShiP MItt” being torpedoed…..

So funny. I wouldn’t even buy it in the dollar store!
Saw that other ones book in a thrift store with a 10 cent sticker…. No one was touching it! Couldn’t even give it away!
It might have been better to have just tossed it, to put it out of its misery!
Snoop Dog says he wants the WH to legalize pot.
The snizzle on the Snecutive branch is it’s the snegislative branch that passes laws.
Oh snoop a loop!
I’d vote for Snoop Dogg President long before I’d vote for Ron Paul. At least Snoop has actually done things for the community, coaching his son’s little league baseball team.
yep and they just arrested his but in Texas with weed.
It figures!
Snoop and Willie Nelson should know to not have drugs on them in the southern states….they’re just laying in wait for them to come into their state to bust them.
Explains the comment then…
STUPID! A black man getting arrested in the South is like someone getting arrested in a foreign country…he better be careful, his crazy, high as a kite azz can end up on a chain gang…the South/Texas is not LA. As my mama used to say, “there comes a time for all things…” Snoop is too old for such foolishness…

I hope every Paul voter shares this sentiment.
I think most Paul voters DO share that sentiment. I would say that Paul is the Right’s Nader, but he has a much bigger following than Ralph. Go rogue, Ron!
Oh yes, yes, yes, Paul. Please run, run, run.
**pumps fist in air** Yesssssss!
Here is the GOP primary schedule FYI. The next primary after tomorrow (NH) will be South Carolina one week from Saturday (Jan 21).
http://www.2012presidentialelectionnews.com/2012-republican-primary-schedule/
ROFLMAO! Here is a list of all PBO’s Democratic primary challengers in NH tomorrow. I doubt PBO is losing any sleep tonite.

What kinda ballot is that ?
“Vote for not more than one” ?
How about “tick one name only” ?
Sheesh. Dems have a roundabout way of touching their nose.
I’m not sure a vast amount of people would know what that (tick) means.
Vote for not more than one is more simple and easier to understand, I think
You have to hunt for President Obama’s name. Jeez

I love that expression. I’ve heard the first part as in,”You can’t run with the big dogs,” but I’d never heard the stay on the porch part.
L3, here it is!!!!
http://www.recidivism.org/images/2006/05/stay_on_the_porch.jpg
That’s funny. I love it.

PBO IS AMAZING! CANT WAIT FOR THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL!
After 2017 the campaign trail will bore the hell out of the media and folks. They will have to recruit PBO to stump and get ratings.
Ed Shultz was on his show advocating Hillary Clinton to be the Vice Presidential nominee…saying that it was a way to prepare for 2017…i like the ticket the way it is…thank you very much,,,,.this Hillary Thing is nutzo
Poor Joe Biden…..he gets no respect from these devils. F-k Ed.
Are ya kidding me?!?! Schultz is a complete idiot. Hillary in 2016?!?! Seriously?!?!
That was a great 5 minutes! Could I LOVE this man anymore???
Chipsticks, never mind about posting only the last few minutes of the President’s speech, the last few minutes of any of President Obama’s rousing speeches is ALWAYS the best. How I love them!
PS — Clawing my way through the last little bit of my piece on big birds at DragonGoose Farm, what a relief, I’ve been struggling off and on for months on this thing! Soon I’ll be freed up to say something coherent on TOD.
I HOPE it’ll be coherent.
Best to you Chips. You. are. wonderful.
He still has it! Just saw him on cspan, his stump speech is very good!
HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL…YES WE WILL DO IT AGAIN! GOD BLESS OUR PRESIDENT…4 MORE YEARS FOR 44!
Good Grief
I watched the New Cake Boss. Looks like I didn’t miss anything with Rachel. She did this kind of crap before the 2008 election…..veiled tearing down of PBO. I am not a big fan.
Her and Ed’s hrs. is when I watch my pvr of Rev Al and Martin Bashir. Done with them.
WOW…AMAZING…AWE-INSPIRING…SURREAL…wish this could be made into a poster somehow…
Hiya Hopefruit, I’ve put that pic in the top right of the sidebar - click it once to see a bigger version, and click it again to see an even bigger version …. then click ‘print’!
Ah…that is great…Many thanks Chips!
So beautiful and inspiring.
Perfection Chips, love it!
that’s one of my absolute favs, of which there are many, I know. But this is a fav among favs! Nice job you did with it. I love seeing it in the sidebar. Good addition
Apparently based on what I saw on Twitter, Dylan Ratigan was just on Maddow rambling as if intoxicated…
Remember this?
I loved this guy, he got in DR face and called him out and DR walked away. Dylan Ratigan did the same thing he did on Rachel Maddow he did when Randi Rhoads had him on her show, he dominates the conversation where no one else can contribute. I hope Randi never has him on her show because HE IS A FRAUD!
His twitter handle is
@KennyMack1
HE PUTS THE “GAS” IN GASBAG
Dylan Radigan was just bloviating on the Rachel Maddow Show about money in politics. He’s basically hawking a book that I will not name. He made sure to point out that both sides are equally guilty. He then proceeded to take over the interview. He was rambling. He is insufferable. I don’t know what Rachel was thinking. But then again, she keeps harping on Ron Paul, Jon Huntsman, and Buddy Romer. So I guess having Dylan Radigan on makes sense.
The liberal press is really not the liberal press. Maybe Its job security, afterall, the GOP is buying all media outlets.
As far as I am concern, she has no (none) credibility…
I wondered the same thing. I was on the treadmill so I left it on……mostly just to see if I could make any sense of what he was saying. Answer: Nope, not so much.
I’m not sure he understands half the mess that comes out of his mouth. I think that he just likes to hear himself talk.
Has MSNBC always let the *stars* hawk their books on the shows? I don’t remember it before Tweetys book came out, but I could surely be wrong.
I was watching O’Donnell and a soon as he said, coming up is a new book on the “Obama’s marriage, I turned away. I refuse to watch anyone dicussing that book.
I’m with you, COS.
I am with you cos, I refuse too!

YES.WE.CAN, Again…Obama/Biden 2012!
FIRED UP & READY TO GO!
WE CAN’T WAIT/WE CAN’T GO BACK…PRESS ON!
President Barack Obama is Sui Generis
Remember Obama drawing 50,000 - 80,000 people at campaign events in 2008? Remember the amazing visual spectacle that provided? Well, so does the media. And when they are confronted with that reality again vs. Willard Romney trying to sound like a human being in front of a few hundred people, well….it won’t be pretty.
Duh - I remember how he came to Berlin and spoke to 200,000 - and only a small fraction of that crowd could even vote for him
Maybe this is why they are after Michelle-
12:30 PM
Michelle Obama delivers remarks at a Democratic National Committee luncheon in Richmond, Va.
2:45 PM
Michelle Obama delivers remarks at Virginia Commonwealth University.
5:15 PM
Michelle Obama delivers remarks at a Democratic National Committee reception in Charlottesville, Va.
Wed. Schedule is packed!
You’re right Jovie, but it won’t work. We need to let the press and that Jodi Kantor know how much we support our FLOTUS.
Fired up, ready to vote.

Barack Obama Quote O’ The Day
Good Night, Everyone!

PUKE!
He made a funny. Awww bless his little bitty heart
At least he’s found a business he can go into, when he loses the nomination and turns into the next laughingstock of the Republican party.
Oh Lord, this man was an offensive worm when he was Pa senator and he’s an offensive worm now. Yuuuuck.

Seriously?
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/01/newt-is-not-here-to-make-friends.php?ref=fpa

Yeah right, why lift the ban when you have superPACs?
Thunk. I’m down for the count. As ever, thanks for the laughs and the seriously intelligent input, everyone! Obama Y’all!
They just voted in NH! Who won that small little district? Lol!
Romney 2 huntsman 2 Paul and Gingrich 1 apiece’
Lol!
How many did the President get?
Jovie,
President Obama won all three votes cast in the Democratic primary.

Cool!

The Swiss authorities were then compelled to water down banking secrecy laws by handing over the names of nearly 4,500 UBS clients.
can’t wait to see how this turns out.

PBO WON DIXVILLE NOTCH!!!
EPIC!
You speak truth, Yardarm. Silent Cal had many problems but he hit in on the head with that one. I wear my Press On Obama button with great pride.
Amen Yardarm:-)

Good Morning Chips,
Here’s the full video of President Obama’s campaign event last night.
Have a great day.
D
When is the last time you heard someone from the crowd yell out “we love you” to Romney, Newt, Santorum, Paul?
I listen to the speech and POTUS was great as usually.
Ceb, good point….that’s why I’m not listening to these pundits in 2012. I don’t care what they say…
No don’t listen to them, what we need to do is help register people to vote. Starting with family, friends, neighbors, help get them ready to vote, if they need a ID help them get that ID, we have to show up to vote better than 2008 and then we will sit back and see what those jackass pundits have to say.
This is only the 450th interview that buddy Roemer has done on msnbc.
Unbelievable!
Steve Ratner says Bain Capitol was a terrific firm.
Jeesh! With friends like these, who needs enemies.
Thanks Steve!
Who is Steve Ratner?
The Presidents old car czar. He oversaw the car bailouts.
Now, he is a regular on morning jerk!
Morning Joe loves “Democrats” who do not support PBO.
Thank you!
Welcome Benchwarmer. We hope you will visit daily and comment often. The blog is the best, you have found a home.

Final NH poll
Myth Robney (Thanks Jovie

Ron Paul 18
Jon Huntsman 16
The rest of the jackals are all bunched up, except of course, Proud Peacock Rick Perry at 1%
http://www1.whdh.com/features/articles/hiller/BO147213/7news-suffolk-university-poll-jan-10/
Robney went up 4 points after his terrible 2 days. Is this guy teflon? WTF?
We shall not know until tonight if the polls are accurate. It is being reported that many are still undecided.
It just does not sound right. He got terrible press and he is surging.
It’s kind of scary. What is it that voters see in Robney? I don’t get it!
In 2000 McCain won NH 49-30 over Bush. NH is crazy.
Republican Ron Paul captured four votes, Jon Huntsman two, and Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich received one each
http://www.unionleader.com/article/20120110/NEWS0605/701119999.
But but but Joe Scarborough just said obama does not know how to connect in small groups of people.
That is a swift boat!
Romney was the GOP winner, but obviously Obama was the WINNER with more votes than Romney.
David Gregory is in the same boat as Matthews, and all those other anti-Obama pundits. Gregory isn’t worth dog doo, neither is what he says.
His “unorthodox endorsement”. Excitement!!! Why is he inserting himself again, and why are the media outlets more than happy to oblige? He’s everywhere again.
We now have Todd “First Dude” Palin’s endorsement. So all that remains is Herb Cain’s. The world awaits.
Bill I do hope you get some sleep in the coming nights. I will try to do so myself. It will be hard for us - anxiously waiting to hear that announcement…And then we can go on with our lives after Thursday.
But we still need to hear from Marcus Bachmann and Bristol Palin. No rest for the weary.
Oh dear…press on, we must.
Good morning,
Just listened to the short clip from last night! Loved it definitely felt shades of 08 looking so forward to 2012 so we can shut these morons up. Thanks for posting Ms. Chips and although I haven’t watched yet thanks Donna for posting whole video.
This does NOT bode well for Jon Huntsman.
Hey hopefruit I meant to say - like your hydrangea avatar! are you a gardener?
Thanks
But alas, I wouldn’t know the first thing about gardening…Just saw it and thought it would make a pretty avatar with green being the color of “hope” and all…
it is!
Matthews has another chill up his leg, this time for Huntsman!
Tweety needs meds.
lisa,I told you guys Matthews had some mental issues.
With Matthews new found love for Huntsman, he can follow him back to China as far as I am concern. Huntsman ain’t going any where else.

Relying on tried and true repug strategy: take opponent’s greatest strength and turn it into a weakness.
They are talking about the DC set and pundits. Not real people.
I mean really, is Sen. Shaheen really a Democrat? She just sits there and let Joe say the most incorrect shit possible. And somehow these people are supposed to back President Obama?
Daley was right, Dems and Repugs make it very hard for PBO to do his job. Can. Not. Stand. Either.
Whenver I hear the name Shaheen I am reminded of Sen. Shaheen’s husband during the campaign.
http://rakesprogress.wordpress.com/2008/09/12/as-obama-and-jeanne-shaheen-campaign-together-bill-shaheens-drug-comments-about-obama-are-long-forgotten/
Good morning, TODville!!
Another stop on the RW Clown Car circus!
Newton Leroy said this morning that Willard’s Bain Capital invested $30 million in a company, then took out $180 million, and the company went bankrupt. That was the LBO model of the 80′s and 90′s. I don’t see how that can be overcome.
HEADLINE: Obama campaign blanketing N.H.

I was particularly disappointed with Senator Brown’s wife and thus him. I’ll never look at him in the same manner.
Okay Don, will it do any good, I doubt it but here’s what I’m going to do. I am going to send Se. Brown a email and you should too. And tell him exactly what you are saying here. If his wife had a email I would send her afew words also.
One of the reason why I love my computer is if I have something to say, I can say it. I can let these people know what and how I feel.
You can believe that Sen. Shaheen and Sen. S. Brown will be getting a email from me.
It will do a great deal of good. If you are angry - focus that energy onto the Senator and his wife.

I finally understand Chuck Todd. He just informed the world that he is a “Miller Lite man”. That explains his taste or lack thereof.
Is Mitt auditioning for President or the remake of ” Pretty in Pink ……Slips ” ???

A freshly minted MBA is what Romney was when he got out of college.
He did not mention he was both a Harvard MBA and Harvard Law graduate.
I heard that and winced. lol
Looks like our man - Clooney, I mean - kicked ass in GMA. Can’t wait to see it.
Morning BWD, there’s a short clip of Clooney in the new Rise and Shine post - love the fella.
Baaahhhh, obviously there is. I’m always behind you. Always.
Morning, love.
DAMN! I HAVE to get to work…I would LOVE some Clooney in the morning!!!!

just sayin…
