Thank you Nerdy and Chipsticks. I hope you are both having a great day.

I’m posting this tweet in the hopes that this gets some publicity. I just found out about this because, without disclosing too much detail, I know the Mom of the young woman who the police killed. WTF. Just blindly shooting into a car killing people because of a suspicion about one of the passengers. They didn’t even know there was a newborn in the back seat.

No one deserves to die, but, why did the guy Perry have to shoot from within the car while he’s in there with the mother of his baby and the baby? If you are in the grey area of the law, why put others in harms way. Our black lives are precarious enough.

      Absolutely devastating.

She was about the same age as Ann Dunham when she passed, and we all agree that was way too early — so wish Ann could have seen her son become POTUS. :(

Article says she became ill during the Selma march in August — unbelievable that she’s gone barely 3 months since her cancer diagnosis. Rest in peace, sincere condolences to her family, her friends and colleagues and those in her extended Obama family. :(

University of Missouri names black interim president

The governing board of the University of Missouri on Thursday named a black law professor and deputy chancellor emeritus to serve as interim president of a university system under siege from racial turmoil.

Michael Middleton, who recently retired from the university after 30 years, earned bachelor and law degrees there. His selection came three days after Tim Wolfe resigned amid a firestorm over his handling of a series of racially charged events on the sprawling campus in Columbia.

Florida officer who killed church drummer Corey Jones is fired

Corey Jones, 31, was shot to death in October by Raja, who stopped his unmarked van to check on what he thought was an abandoned vehicle and was “suddenly confronted by an armed subject,” police chief Stephen Stepp has said.

Details of exactly what happened have not been released by police. Raja’s van didn’t have a dashboard camera and the department’s officers do not wear body cameras, Stepp previously said.

I was listening to a radio show on my way back home and they were discussing the fact that Glamour Magazine pick Bruce Catalyn Jenner as their woman of the year. Alot of people calling in didn’t think it was right because Jenner is still a man between the legs..

      • 28 bella2758
        November 12, 2025 at 5:06 pm

        Glamour is a woman magazine.

      • 29 GGail
        November 12, 2025 at 5:18 pm

Yes, it is creating quite a stir - precisely because of the anatomy. Was Glamour Magazine in need of a “pick me up” controversial edition?

Sometimes things are done or said for effect.

between the legs? Now I know what transgendered people mean when they get discriminated against and how it’s universally accepted regardless whether liberal or conservative.

        • 33 bella2758
          November 12, 2025 at 7:01 pm

I don’t think anyone was discriminating against Bruce Jenner, I mean Catalyn Bruce Jenner. They just didn’t think he/she should be name woman of the year.

          • 34 GGail
            November 12, 2025 at 7:27 pm

And they had a right to voice their opinion about one of the 25 people that Glamour had chosen. 99% of the posted comments are against the choice due to the anatomy. In their opinion, Caitlyn is not a total woman.

Neither I nor you Annieb are passing judgement - merely discussing a topic. :-)

          • November 12, 2025 at 8:04 pm

These are the concerns the transgender folks have to deal with…

Eek. Before I could shut down the teevee, accidentally heard Chuck Todd intro his MTP Daily Muck-up Show with something like this:

“Good (insert his confused look here) Thurrr … uh … Thursday from you … ”

A straightforward “Good Thursday to you” (not from you) was a little too much for him. To me he always looks (a) bored, (b) imbecilic.

See y’all later, TODville! Good Thursday to you! :)

MIAMI — By his own estimate, Kyrie Irving figures about half the people who shout at him in public use his name.

The other half yell for Uncle Drew.

The character Irving created — the old man who shows up at the playground and, as Drew would say, gets “buckets” — is back. Pepsi and Irving released Chapter 4 of the wildly popular Uncle Drew story on Thursday, this episode filmed at a Miami park over the summer and also featuring Ray Allen, Baron Davis and actor J.B. Smoove.

I still want someone to explain to me how this gets done, precisely.

How do you identify and locate undocumented workers?
Do you search door to door?
Do you get search warrants for every home in America without probably cause?
Do you invade people’s homes and businesses and demand to see everyone’s birth certificate?
Is it only brown people that must go?
Really, how exactly does this get done that doesn’t amount to wholesale discrimination and a violation of civil rights?

      • 54 jacquelineoboomer
        November 12, 2025 at 8:15 pm

It obviously reminds one of Hitler and Nazi Germany, and other similar events in history where people were supposed to turn in other people to the authorities, if they knew they were hiding.

Very, very harmful to our country and the world to have a politician talk about this, as though it were normal and good practice. In addition to undocumented workers who’d be exposed, at their peril, how many of the rest of us would want to be around to see it. Not many.

OMG, yes. Trump is counting on Americans who are leaping at the thought of witnessing the round-up. It is a horrendous thought experiment never mind a reality. Just horrific.

Lots of “sane” Republicans interviewed on teevee are saying it’s a horrible idea. Trump needs to be shoved out before he comes up with worse than this. He can yell all he wants from the sidelines, but he’s inciting riots at this point.

They will ask you to snitch on your neighbor. For me the first to go will be the ones that don’t rinse out their recyclables or push their garbage down the chute Next will be the family with the six kids that throw things at folks from their window. You all see ere I am going with this? It will be impossible so Trump just shut up. It was tried in Germany not too long ago and it will never happen again. Hopefully.

also keep in mind this has been done here before with the Japanese Internment during WWII…keep in mind that German Americans did not face that kind of round up…so rounding up people has happened in our country before…to say nothing of the heritage of Slavery….

          but i agree with meta…

i am tired of this kind of talk being normalized…are we as Americans that numb…

the outcome of this kind of hate rhetoric…has been seen…white supremacist on college campuses promising to shoot every blk person they see…police shooting at will unarmed folks of color (recent SCOTUS ruling giving police even more immunity) .but we Americans continue to pretend that there is no connection…and now the GOP Presidential candidates have gone 3rd Reich on us…by calling for the round up of undocumented people…aka brown folks…they will not be rounding up any white folks…

where is the press calling this what it is…where is the DNC calling this what it is….

      but I made a decision some months ago that I wouldn’t share any more stories about the USSS, unless it was something nice;

reason: yes, the agency needs to clean up a lot of things; but it also seems that there are some people in the belt way who are more interested in its destruction than its thorough rehabilitation

Get you point, gcl. This doesn’t seem to be beltway press. He was caught ‘sexting’ with what he thought was a 14 year old. Was undercover cop in Delaware. Much was done while on duty at WH. ABC and CBS both led with story, followed with Ash Carter letting his top aide go. After both stories, I thought: how long before we hear both of these are PO’s fault.

Yeah, establishment RWNJs have their come to Jesus moment, and they built it. If they are wondering how to defeat Trump and Carson, why not stand up and be counted? Why not bring forward everybody who has seen the light, and make a general announcement that the two “outsiders” don’t represent conservative or moderate Republicans. If they had a spine, they’d fight back.

Of course, if Trump or Carson win the nomination, the RNC and voters will stand behind them, just to keep a Democrat out of the White House. They’ll be signing up to be part of the “deportation force.” Who to blame for that, RWNJs? Look in the mirror … if you can stand your own images at this point.

These racists clowns would speak out in favor of Dylaan Roof before they speak in favor of the nine people Roof murder. These clowns knows who there base is, a bunch of racists and they can’t risk making them angry.

Last night, while Trump was spewing garbage, making even his radical base in Iowa UNcomfortable with his his extremist rantings, our illustrious, steadfast President was busy eviscerating one of ISIS’ head honchos.

    Any questions?
