I’m sobbing. I have several clients whose lives have been saved by our POTUS and the ACA. It feels so amazing helping people who’ve never been either able to afford health insurance, or were denied coverage for being proactive about their mental health and taken an anti-depressant. (Yes, an Rx for any anti-depressant was grounds for rejecting an application. Along with breast implants, a sleep study, high blood pressure, diabetes, a thyroid “issue”, and many more…. )

Me too! My family knows how I am an overboard zealous Obamabot. I worked hard to get him elected twice, to get PPACA passed, and ever since to help get his policies through Congress. My gifts from my family have been related to his presidency. I know I will not feel that allegiance again, but feel blessed to have experienced it in my lifetime. My fellow tribal members are proud of our president too. He has done more to recognize, listen and include Native Americans than any modern presidents. Bernie does not even mention Native Americans in his speeches.
After an amazing day at school, I read this letter, and the tears just don’t stop. How generous and big-hearted of this man to write such a letter. How many more have had his experience, but cannot bring themselves to the realization that they were wrong and had to grace to say so? I know President Obama will read this and once again know that everything he has endured was worth it.
