yep if they can limit or end our interaction with one another, prevent us connecting, sharing info, FACTS & knowing what’s going on around us, especially via govt/ Congress; etc, there will be less marching, organizing and VOTING. Keep our “news” limited to what Trump & Fox / Sinclair want to snow us with… and they will remain in power as long as they want to. I’ve always believed this was the goal- and Putin is at the bottom of it. Call me cuckoo.

          from the article:…
The erosion of freedom of speech and assembly has always been a hallmark of dictatorship, one traditionally associated with formal decrees of censorship or dramatic acts like book burning. In Mr. Trump’s corporatized administration, overt state censorship is unnecessary and undesirable: Instead, technology can be manipulated while excessive litigation can force the media into self-censorship. The subtler gesture of removing the neutrality of the internet allows constitutional rights to remain intact on paper but demolished in practice.

I did not know that she was American as well. You know, I have long had this fantasy of Prince Harry marrying a Black woman (you know in North America, Black trumps bi-racial every time), but also wished that he would marry someone who loved him as he loved her and from all reports this came true as well. I have always had a soft spot for him.

Senate GOP tax bill hurts the poor more than originally thought, CBO finds

    Source: The Washington Post

By Heather Long November 26 at 9:08 PM

The Senate Republican tax plan gives substantial tax cuts and benefits to Americans earning more than $100,000 a year, while the nation’s poorest would be worse off, according to a report released Sunday by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

Republicans are aiming to have the full Senate vote on the tax plan as early as this week, but the new CBO analysis showing large, harmful effects on the poor may complicate those plans. The CBO also said the bill would add $1.4 trillion to the deficit over the next decade, a potential problem for Republican lawmakers worried about America’s growing debt.

Democrats have repeatedly slammed the bill as a giveaway to the rich at the expense of the poor. In addition to lowering taxes for businesses and many individuals, the Senate bill also makes a major change to health insurance that the CBO projects would have a harsh impact on lower-income families.

By 2019, Americans earning less than $30,000 a year would be worse off under the Senate bill, CBO found. By 2021, Americans earning $40,000 or less would be net losers, and by 2027, most people earning less than $75,000 a year would be worse off. On the flip side, millionaires and those earning $100,000 to $500,000 would be big beneficiaries, according to the CBO’s calculations. (In the CBO table below, negative signs mean people in those income brackets pay less in taxes).

    From AltNPS:

    Action Alert:
South Dakota is looking into revoking the Keystone pipeline permit after last week’s 210,000+ gallon spill. This is a relatively new pipeline and has already experienced three major leaks one just on the border with North Dakota and two in South Dakota in a short period of time. Please call South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) member Gary Hanson and let him know you support revoking the Keystone pipeline permit because the operator violated its license by promising state-of-the-art pipeline construction. This promise was broken based on the continuous leaks/spills occurring in a short period of time. Please call (605) 773-3201 and email the three commissioners at kristie.fiegen@state.sd.us, gary.hanson@state.sd.us, and chris.nelson@state.sd.us. Comment “Yes” below if you call. We are trying to estimate the number of phone calls.

Pete Souza is a national treasure. The kid version of his book of photographs arrived today, and even in this one he is setting the record straight and throwing a little shade. In the caption of the famous photo of PBO leaning over Putin in s a very alpha male position, he states: “The President had to always be ready to talk with our adversaries in a meaningful way.” Ding, ding, ding!
The chapter headings are many of the words of advice that we have heard PBO give to young people over the years. I hope that there is some award or recognition for all of the work he has done for his roles as artist, historian and activist.

I just watched the interview that Prince Harry and Megan did a few hours ago. This is the real deal; they are very obviously in love, there is respect, shared purpose, maturity and humor. The way that they were holding their hands clasped together and held on her thigh throughout the interview, reminded me of how PBO and Michelle often hold hands. He designed her ring that has two stones that came from h is mother’s jewelry. For some reason seeing him so happy brought tears to my eyes.

Don I just don’t know how low the POS-DOTARD will go. I am glad no one laughed at his despicable “joke” because everyone BUT HIM & his Chief of Racist knew it was an insult.

I worked with someone like that. A white guy who on the surface was ok but would say some insensitive things out loud. That’s like the Ta-Nehisi Coates video when a white person asked why it wasn’t ok for whites to use the “N” word when blacks could? Unfortunately Kelly thinks the same why as Dotard.

She must have given enough information about herself that someone tracked her down to her employer. Her employer fired her.

Poor Americans would lose billions of dollars worth of federal benefits under the Senate GOP tax bill, according to a new Congressional Budget Office report.

This is largely because the legislation would eliminate the individual mandate, which requires nearly all Americans to get health insurance or pay a penalty. This would result in 13 million fewer people having coverage in 2027, the CBO found.

Many of the folks who would forgo coverage would have lower or moderate incomes and would have qualified for Medicaid or federal help paying their premiums or out-of-pocket health expenses, CBO found.

A feel good story: A woman sent a text to the wrong Justin (thought she was messaging her grandson0 to invite him to Thanksgiving dinner. Even when she realized she reached the wrong person the invitation was still open. She is white, he is Black. They all enjoyed each other so much, that she invited him again this year and he and a female friend/relative? accepted and came again. The young man said in an interview: “I never knew there were such kind people in the world.” We must all work harder to be kind (Barack always talks about this) in our everyday lives. Little things go a long way in creating a more civil and compassionate society. This must be our mission in these divisive times, especially when you see the news report that thousands bought guns the day after Thanksgiving.
