Damn, Chips, you’re gonna make some of us lurkers totally unmasked if you keep this up. I really love your GOPolitico send-ups — so damn funny. But when you throw in the Coconut balls on top of it — (urrrggggg) — damn. Don’t know whether to let my sides split laughing or freaking throw up. What a divine dichotomy!
LOVE THE HEADLINE AND THE PHOTO of our classy FLOTUS! Readers Digest will reach many Nascar fans and Fox viewers. I hope many read it with an open mind.
Reader’s Digest reaches a big audience and they’re not just all rednecks. Michelle will go down in history as one of the finest First Ladies we have ever had. Anyone who doesn’t appreciate her inner and outer beauty should have to spend eternity looking at Newt in a mankini.
Oh, hey. Look at Count Dracula showing off her facelift and Botox enhanced face. Great. Now its perfectly preserved . 50 years from now she’ll be on display in the Museum of Natural Arts and Sciences, our very own version of the modern gargoyle.
She got a lot of money when she sold out. Surgically enhanced faces are expensive. Always glad to see that people like Arianna understand the real circumstances of the middle class. We all struggle with what kind of face and body enhancements we’re going to get this year.
Meta, I just read the Mother Jones article from the previous thread about PBO’s triumphs on his trip. Since so little was discussed about PBO’s trip, that would make a good thread for others to read. I believe those leaders genuinely like and trust PBO and his intelligence. That’s why he is able to accomplish so much. I cannot see any of the republican candidates coming even close to dealing with these leaders.
Someone on TOD (I think it was saintroscoe) stated that the reason the MSM didn’t cover the Asia Pacific trip was because they didn’t understand what happened.
Then I read the Mother Jones piece witten by Drum and there it was.
“Dan Drezner recommends Walter Russell Mead’s nickel summary of President Obama’s recent whirlwind swing through Asia. I confess that the reaction to rotating a couple hundred troops through Darwin struck me as a little overblown, but decoding the sub rosa minutiae of diplomatic intrigue is tricky at the best of times, so I figured I was probably missing something.

If that wasn’t enough, a critical mass of the region’s countries have agreed to work out a new trade group that does not include China, while the US, to applause, has proposed that China’s territorial disputes with its neighbors be settled at a forum like the East Asia Summit — rather than in the bilateral talks with its smaller, weaker neighbors that China prefers.

OK, then. Congratulations, Team Obama! Anyway, this is interesting. I haven’t seen Obama get much credit for this trip, possibly because the minutiae of diplomatic intrigue is no more obvious to most reporters than it is to me. And I certainly wouldn’t have expected it from Walter Russell Mead. But apparently it was quite the triumph.

bottom line - they STILL don’t understand what happened.
Glad you guys read it. What he accomplished on this trip is absolutely amazing and significant. And you have to read it at Mother Jones. I should tweet it to the MSM…….
Please support the ‘Zero Tolerance Pledge’ that I’ve just launched on Twitter:
Our4thEstate Bobfr
Please Support the Zero Tolerance Pledge - ZERO GOP elected to the US Senate, House, State & Local Gvts in 2012. ZERO. Support the 99%. VOTE
I will be unrelenting in promoting the Pledge on Twitter & hope many of you will advance it on FaceBook and anywhere else you think it might stick.
It’s time we crush the Koch & Norquist terrorists and all their minions. I’d be delighted if a legitimate opposition party existed in America because that is an essential element of the dialectic of democracy. Today, that dialectic is dead because only one party is willing to govern in all the dimensions that ‘govern’ means in a democracy.
Thank you so much, WiW. I’m going to be tweeting it as frequently as possible from now until 6 Nov 2012. And, your support and that of all TODers could well make it way more potent than the treasonous Norquist pledge.
OMG, Chips, you have outdone yourself again. I just checked in before bed. I almost fell out of my chair laughing. You are amazing. Thanks for the laugh.
OMG, CHIPS! I don’t know what you do for a living but it better be in comedy! My sides are aching from all this crazy mess!! SO EFFECTIVE, so believable, so real, so FUNNY. They really think we’re that stupid!
I can’t even believe this. Are you sure this isn’t one of Chipsticks’ headlines?
Do you remember when President Obama told the bankers that he was the only thing between them and pitchforks? I think they might just see their class warfare over this one. 9% unemployment, and they do this? They’re not human.
The unmitigated gall. This extremist excess is so beyond the pale, maybe it will actually reach the silent majority who don’t seem to notice that Congressional Republicans are trying to flush this country down the toilet. Sometimes I wonder where this arrogance ends.
And he’s so old. One would think he’d have started to examine his life’s work by now, preparing to meet his maker. He still wants more. I feel sorry for people like this.
Twelve wounded troops from Afghanistan and Iraq, several missing both their legs, were clustered Monday around two long tables at the vice president’s home.
Joe and Jill Biden’s third annual holiday meal for injured military personnel fell on an especially poisonous day of partisan finger-pointing in Washington. A special congressional “supercommittee” admitted that it had failed to cut the deficit by $1.2 trillion.
Vice President Biden did not mention the committee’s collapse. He barely acknowledged the war in Afghanistan or the controversial mission in Iraq, which is drawing to a close next month.
Instead, he spoke briefly about what he said was the country’s most sacred duty.
“We have a lot of obligations as a country,” Biden said. “We have obligations to the young, the old and the infirm. We have only one true sacred obligation, and that is to provide for those of you we send into harm’s way and give you every single, solitary thing that you could possibly need to make the transition back home reasonable and workable. That is the only truly, truly sacred obligation we have.”
IMHO there should be 80% aproval of re-election for this beautiful administration and what they have done for active duty military and vets alike during their first term. Re-electing President Obama as far as the military personnel is concerned should be a after thought.
Chips you have done it again. Your GOpolitical graphics are so REAL and the headlines are just hilarious. BTW I forgive you for your outburst in response to the NASCAR boos toward FLOTUS. AS you can see we all our human and can react spontaneously with emotion. Just a helpful thought. Obama/Biden 2012
Something weird is happening to this site…Chips, did you change anything? Seriously, I’m not talking about the hilarious GoPolitico satire, I mean when I click the site, it doesn’t look ANYTHING like it always does! everything is white, the blogroll isn’t where it should be,all the threads are in a line down the page…very odd. Then, when I click to comment, it looks like it should…with black background and everything in its place.Very odd… poltergeists?
DF, Exact thing happened to me this morning when I refreshed. Then, when I closed that thread and opened this new one, everything is back to ‘normal.’
Good day to all of you. We are leaving our daughter’s today and heading to northern VA to be with friends for Thanksgiving. (Daughter’s in-laws are coming here—-a wonderful thing. They don’t see them enough!!!!)
that’s bc you are on a mobile device. Scroll all the way to the bottom of your screen. You’ll see a choice of ‘View full site’ or something else below that. Click view full site. Then everything will look familiar. Whenever you are on a mobile device, remember to do that.

Good morning TODvilles, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, I’m about to get on the road to visit my Mom In South Carolina, for Thanksgiving, I will meet all my Sisters and Brothers there. We usually meet at Mom’s every Thanksgiving. Of course, we have tons of fun, laughter, chit chats, wine, beer, and the likes. So, I’ll be gone for about six days. take care everybody, and do have a good one
Good Morning all. Getting ready to go to work. Excited about this evening. We are doing voter registration training starting tonight at our Delray office in Florida. I have my “Third Party Voter Registration Certificate”….don’t get me started on that one…
Anyway…we are starting to GOTV. Florida is a very transient state. We have our snow angels that come down all winter. People move all the time here. We also have “No Match, No Vote”, Your voter registration must match your Florida DL or ID. You have to show that to vote here. Everyone was also thrown off the mail in vote rolls after the 2010 election. Everyone, Republicans, Independents, and Democrats that voted by mail has to request to do it again. It WON”T automatically come in the mail as it has done in the past. Most of our Seniors vote by mail. They do not know this law is now in effect. We are renewing their vote by mail registrations, updating voter registrations if people have moved and getting NEW voter Registrations starting this weekend.
This is my favorite part of the campaign…Have a great day and remember:
GOTV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And make sure you turn them In 48 hours after you sign register them to vote.
Very important, otherwise you get a fine.
I did one in Clearwater, fl 3 weeks ago, got 23, but had to turn them in that day to my team leader. It’s what she told us all.
Thanks Jovie…I know..I live 1 mile from the office where I turn them in. In 2008 I worked by the drop off in Broward…turned them in daily…now I live closer to the one in Palm Beach County. I turn them in daily. I am a trainer.
Sooo, AP on how NH voters are sour to the President.
Really?
How about the GOP have been camped out there for over a year and Romney has a House there.
Ya think that may have something to do with it?
Chipsticks, for the sake of our collective health at TOD, I ask that you please refrain from posting the Mankini. That is not something you want to see first thing in the morning!
I almost thought I was on the wrong website.
Well done chips, well done!
Extremely well done - best yet! Some of the photos make me cringe at first, there’s that, but I like laughing at them all!
For a minute i thought the site had been hi-jacked, whew.
Chips, I said good night earlier but I decided to log in to see if you had posted my “Mankini”? You disappointed me.
I am LOL.
COS, be careful what you wish for:

Please don’t ever do this to me again ’cause I’m not throwing up, just ruining the rib I gave to Adam.
Mrs. Newt will probably get turn on from that.
The Tiffany jewels, I mean.
Geez-I just woke up. It’s too much without coffee. Euwwwwww!
Yeah! Go Newtie - go Newtie- go Newtie. Eat your hearts out ladies. Obama has nothing on the Newster!
…ain’t that the truth
Hilarious!!
Totally concur. You’ve done it again Chips. Hilarious masterpiece.
Those headlines are pure GOLD! Thanks for the laughter!
Perfectly Awesome, Chips! You can’t tell their real whines from those you’ve given them on TOD’s goPolitico!

She got a lot of money when she sold out. Surgically enhanced faces are expensive. Always glad to see that people like Arianna understand the real circumstances of the middle class. We all struggle with what kind of face and body enhancements we’re going to get this year.
Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Time to do some twitter work. This is brilliant, Chip.
Chips, I love your headlines!!! Always a great way to end the day with a laugh!!
Excellent Chips !! I’m going straight to Twitter.

Flip-flopping develops the muscles!
