Yes, I know, but I’m also in a sleep study at present, plus I know beyond doubt as soon as I get settled in, the 3 ton behemoth who lives above me will start her terrifying stomping and it will freak me out!! I’ve been sleeping out in the living room on the sofa for 5 months tomorrow. And my back is getting pretty darn sore. Poor little MP! Sighs. Off to rest a while, big hugs all around!

Hillary Clinton most admired woman. Not to me she is not. Let me put it like this, if given a chance to meet Hillary or my choice as most admired it would be no contest. Hillary wouldn’t make my top five. By the way my choice as most admired woman is First Lady Michelle Obama. :)

I think this is an old article from Dec 2014. I’m waiting to see what the new one this year will bring - I’m pretty sure that PBO will still be on top. :)
It is 2014 Gallup poll, but that doesn’t change why I said, not one bit. Hillary would not be my most admired woman. It could be 2010 poll. :).
I don’t hate Hillary. Most likely she will be the Democratic nominee for President.

We all know the GOP candidates are planning on demanding different formats for their upcoming dumb-ass debates. How dare they! There are two things to consider, of course. First, no matter what they argue about, they need the national attention - most people don’t know who some of ’em are. But they also know the cable media that will host the debates need the cash flow from their advertisers, because “the news” is all a big money game. Both groups are losers. Must suck to be them. But the American people lose honest representations from candidates, what they stand for and how they do under pressure. Not that all of us don’t already know this, but all of a sudden, I’m spitting mad about it. Ha! Funny how some of this hits you, when you least expect it, eh?

Loved the video (except there were NO Marines)! No offense and thanks for defining the acronym. I saw “Naptown” and midshipman and immediately thought Newport RI. Was prepared to view some of my old haunts; clicked on and realized it wasn’t NEWPORT, and wondered WHY it was called “Naptown.” I was focused on the NAP (Naval Academy Prep School) which is in Newport; never considered Naptown as a nickname for Annapolis…
I knew it was Annapolis right away. Love it! Sending it to some Navy friends. I think their only complaint would be the hair rollers. ;-)

The photo has been copied and posted countless times, becoming known on the internet as “Sceptical Third World Child”. But with the images and funny captions has come a serious debate about how the Western world views and reports on poverty and African children.
He’s wearing dirty clothes and a wry expression, giving the mother of all side-eyes to a woman squatting next to him in the dirt.
This image was originally posted to Reddit three years ago by a man in Texas who spotted the amusing photo on the Facebook page of a friend. Since then, it’s been copied and captioned countless times. Many of the captions play on a crude stereotype of Africa as war-torn, poor, and suffering constant food shortages.
It’s become such a widespread internet meme that BBC Trending wondered - who is the boy? And what does the spread of his picture tell us about the internet’s culture and prejudices?
The first issue raised by memes like this is one of privacy. We haven’t yet found the boy or his parents, and we don’t even know if they are aware of the image going viral. We’ve chosen to publish the picture here because it has already been shared so widely and to highlight the debate it raises.
We have, however, tracked down the woman in the picture. Heena Pranav is a 28-year-old doctor who lives in Chicago. Back in 2012 she was a medical student and she’d travelled to Gulu, a city in northern Uganda, to help an aid project for women traumatised by the country’s war with the Lords Resistance Army. The project was run by Pros for Africa, a charity headed by a Catholic nun, Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe.
The child in the photo wasn’t connected to the aid project - Pranav says she met him at a local market and guessed he was about two or three years old.
“I was with a group of other medical students at the time, we were walking around and I saw this little boy, he seemed really sweet,” Pranav told BBC Trending radio. “His mom was nearby working in the market. I went up to him to play with him and say ‘hi’… he was the most animated child I’ve ever met.”
The boy didn’t speak English, and Pranav doesn’t speak the local languages (which include Luo, Swahili and others), but their brief encounter was captured on camera by another member of the group. Pranav says she hadn’t even heard of Reddit before her friend posted it on the message board and it went viral.
“I can’t imagine this would have happened,” she said. “I wished the kid and his mom could have known about it and somehow benefited from it, because I do think he was exploited in the process.”
