And I’ve just spotted that this is TOD’s 10004th post - which means we completely missed the 10000th celebration today.

Is it too late to have a party?

    Heck no:

wow, for “thugs”, the citizens of Ferguson showed a lot of compassion for a slain teen.

    In Stewie the Wonderpup news…

He used to go to school every day in more flush times. But with the missus’ job situation—and the fact that our doggie daycare goddess did such a bangup job raising him that he can stay home all day by himself without destroying the place—we send him every couple of weeks so that he can run around and see his friends.

He went a couple of weeks ago, and as usual played, er, studied hard. He played so hard that he split open one of his toenails.

We didn’t think much of it, as he was caringly licking it and treating it. But on Tuesday we were out back, and I happened to look at his paw. The nail was basically hanging on by a thread, with his quick completely exposed.

We took him to our super-vet yesterday morning. They drugged him up with Dilaudid, removed the nail, and dressed him. The poor guy was knocked out most of yesterday imagining pink elephants from the drugs.

So he has a think bandage around his right front paw, which we’ve accentuated by encasing it in a plastic freezer bag so that it won’t get wet. But he handles it with such equanimity that it almost makes up for the times he craps on our kitchen floor.

    Here’s my wounded boy:

Thanks for the previous thread, Chips! …….Lauryn Hill is one of my favorite artists & lyricists alive….her voice is unmistakeable. To this day the most enjoyable concert I’ve ever been too was Lauryn Hill & Outkast at the historic FOX Theater in Atlanta.

I will never forget that experience….so intimate, and one of the last shows she ever did after releasing her only solo album ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ ……..the Fugees album ‘The Score’ is still one the best albums ever recorded:

Poor baby! It is so sad when our babies are hurting and can’t say anything about it. Hopefully he’s having great doggie dreams. Does he ever bark when he’s sleeping?

Thank you sweet Chips, Nerdy W., LL, and all of this beautiful family. I am running on fumes, but grace is standing next to me all the way. Precious thoughts and loving deeds holding these wonderful young people together. They are our future and thank I am so grateful that we have a caring, and loving beautiful at the WH and he has a great AG at the DOJ.

Loving thoughts to my Chips and TOD family. This has been very difficult for this little senior, but I know that we will see it through with each other standing together. So much happening which calls for our loving thoughts, meditations, and good deeds. Give a little time in your space for wisdom, and grace to be granted to our wonderful President. He is even stronger with all of us keeping his back.

Pray for my precious brother that he will keep strong and safe because I need him also. He is very calm and thus keeps me calm even while he is doing his terrific job. Wisdom, and safety. PBO will handle it, and we will Stay Together. Good night, my loving TOD family.

Candles lit and hoping for a lovely visit for MightyPamela and her precious daughter. Make your space beautiful for the lovely time together.HZ

    “Different Rules Apply”

“I’ve been thinking about what, exactly, to tell my son when we finish our conversation. I might as well just tell him the truth: that different rules apply, that the different rules are part of the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow that are among this country’s great sins, and that it’s part of his job as a human being to fight against it. “

But also tell your son…that no matter how dark things look…We have never given up…we fight and we persevere….because to not do so is to die….

We have the strength of Kings and Queens in our wings….and we will forever fight for what is right…and JUST…..tell your son that as well

I read elsewhere (comment in the NY Times) - 395 years since slaves first came to the US - 150 years since they were freed - and still people have to fight for their rights.

It was a good item prettyfoot - from a man struggling to tell his son the reality of “different rules”

what i have heard so much in recent times is that we are fighting old battles…be it voter rights…womens rights…civil rights…the truth of the matter is the yes we have won victories…but the battle is far from over…what i have learned is that the battle is never fully won…that those who would take away our rights are ever vigilant for an opening to do so again (2010 elections)…we must be ever vigilant to defend our rights….

the culture of racism and prejudice is part of the fiber of America…..just as the fight against it is part of the fiber of America….those who have the power would keep us fighting among ourselves instead of challenging those with the power…..together

the president was able to gather a broad coalition of Americans (the Obama Coalition)…and was able to beat that power not once but twice…so it is not surprising that the beast would bring out its most virulent weapon to rise up against not only the President but the coalition as well….

We the people will continue to fight…against the beast because We Must!

More impeach him noise from the msm and the rethugs next week?

The exchange of five senior Taliban commanders held at Guantanamo Bay for a US soldier held captive by the Taliban violated the law, an independent US government watchdog agency has said.

The defence department did not give Congress the required 30-days notice before releasing the men, the Government Accountability Office said.

Among other issues, Republicans said the Democratic Obama administration failed to give Congress advance notice of the swap, required under federal law governing releases from the US prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

In response to the criticism, the administration said it could not wait 30 days to make the swap because Sgt Bergdahl’s life was in danger, and said the requirement for 30 days’ notice was unconstitutional because it interfered in the Bergdahl case with the president’s authority to protect US soldiers and citizens abroad.

In a memorandum released on Thursday, the GAO rejected that rationale.

“Because [the Pentagon] did not provide written notice to the relevant congressional committees until 31 May 2014, the same day as the transfer, [the Pengaton] violated” the law, the GAO wrote in an opinion.

I saw that. I guess it’s important to keep up to date on all the attacks ventured against the President ?
Otherwise, one or maybe two could sneak by and injure him, if we are not careful.
