I know what it has meant for me, in the past, before blessed Obamacare: up to 7 hours on a gurney in the hallway, followed a few weeks later by a bill for $7,000.00. Out of pocket, because a middle-aged woman, self-employed, with pre-existing conditions, COULD NOT EVEN PURCHASE a health care insurance policy. At any price. Oh yeah, I <3 Obamacare. The only thing the GOP has done well, naming a brilliant program after a brilliant man!! (and don't they regret it now… HaHaHA!!)
UK and Oz systems come in for some criticism - but nothing like this MP. Mr 99 got ill in the UK - 5 days in hospital (after 4 hour wait in emergency) - minor op - zero charge from hospital - 20 pounds to use the internet :)
He is good on that show! Anyway I like him. Always good to get a look at America from someone who wasnāt born here. At least from a comedians point of view. š
Our county health department has partnered with the public libraries to hold enrollment events where people who need to sign up for a new policy or change their Obamacare insurance can get free help from a navigator. President Obama will spend 2016 campaigning for his legacy https://t.co/UZW2ssLOnR pic.twitter.com/cgkAM41CvE
— Bloomberg Business (@business) November 8, 2025
As he should. If he canāt rely on the spineless Dems (including the current Presidential candidates) to tell the truth about the past 7 years, he has no choice but to go out and do so. Also, thatās probably the only way the Dem voters will actually be motivated enough to go to the polls with him not being on the ballot in 2016.
But over the years, a lot of people have missed how often the President has used humor as a way of challenging his opponents. Some folks - like Edward-Isaac Dovere - seem to just be noticing that we have a Comedian-in-Chief. But Iām here to tell you that itās been there all along.
One of the first times I noticed this talent was when President Obama went to Nevada to stump for Harry Reid in 2010 - whose opponent at the time was Sharon Angle.
WHEW! Now that that is over*****GO VOLS!****** I can breathe and think about something else. :)
The Knox County Dems have been having a social on the First Friday of every month for the past 3 or 4 years. It was always at our headquarters and districts would take turns providing the food and serving as āhosts.ā Sometimes they would be well attended, but usually it was a fairly small group unless we linked it with something else like meet the candidates. In the past year, a different district is hosting each month, finding a restaurant in that district. This month was my district. We got a room at a Mexican restaurant. Did an event noticification on Facebook, sent emails, etc. We only got responses from 25-28 people and a handful of āmaybes.ā Well, guess what? 50+ people and some of them had NEVER been to any eventāthe other socials, Truman Day or anything else! Folks mingled and met people from other districts. It was totally awesome!!!!!
Just wanted to share that. :)
****Also, talked with one of our district chairs about DWS. He feels like all of us-she needs to go and she needs to go NOW. I said this is the one area that I cannot phathom POās thinking. Why hasnāt he replaced her?!?!?! He says maybe he just doesnāt want to create that upheaval in the time he has left. The reason I donāt understand him on this topic: He always thinks long-term and big picture. He wants to preserve his legacy and get as many Dems elected as possible. With her still in place at the DNC, I am fearful of those two things happening or happening to the extent they could if there was a strong leader in that position; someone who has a long-term strategy for developing candidates at all levels, providing the support for them to win, grow the party, etc. Those things are not going to happen with DWS at the DNC. Come on, PO, please replace her!!
There was always a good chance her rethug underpinnings would take control. Iām frankly disgusted and horrified by her, and asking that she be primaried. But very little hope that will happen. Her father has lots of rwnj buddies who contribute, and also Hawaiiās voters tend to be loyal. Plus the whole vet thing. Iāve written to her multiple times with no reply-clearly she doesnāt need the likes of me.
I find it odd that the same people pressuring PBO to get rid of DWS are pressuring PBO supporters to accept HRC as the Dem nominee. The two things are not compatible - HRC absolutely NEEDS DWS to be chair - in order for her to gain the nomination and have a chance at beating the GOP. No other chair would be so committed to getting HRC elected than DWS has been. The minute DWS gets fired, HRC is in trouble. Just letting yāall know this….
DWS is a symptom of everything that is WRONG with the Democratic party. She is not the cause. The Dems lost in 2010 - DWS was not the chair at that time. Al Gore and John Kerry both lost the Presidency to this loser GWB…DWS was not the chair. PBO probably appointed her because there was no other Dem willing to do the job. His hands were tied. And for a while she did okay - the Dems did well in 2012 (with PBO on the ballot) and 2013 (with PBOās coalition still activated for the Dem candidates). But 2014 and 2015 were a different matter - because the DNC was more invested in the protecting the 2016 Presidential candidate - i.e., HRC, and using the midterm to test her popularity among voters than defending PBO and bringing out his coalition.
But 2014 and 2015 were a different matter ā because the DNC was more invested in the protecting the 2016 Presidential candidate ā i.e., HRC, and using the midterm to test her popularity among voters than defending PBO and bringing out his coalition.
It will be next to impossible for PBO to let DW Schultz go at this stage now that we are into the election season but I plan to appeal to Valerie Jarrett, David Plouffe and David Axelrod every chance I get to get her to engage in a 50 state strategy that nationalizes this campaign. People donāt know that we are the party of the people because she doesnāt bother to educate them.
My request to TOD is that you retweet these suggestions so that they can get high visibility
Thank You and Good Night
@DWStweets R's have mastered the ability 2 nationalize ea. election & make them all about PBO. Take a page from them & run on our Dem values
Also, as I stated above - DWS is key to HRCās nomination in the Dem primaries and shot at the Presidency. Do people realize that if PBO fires DWS, HRC will almost surely lose the nomination and then PBO will face immense and undeserved backlash?

lmao. All the exit “polls” (which are banned during the 5 phases of election) predicted a bjp, (modiās party) win or a very close, itās a toss-up result. They all have eggs on their faces now.

LOL. This is a dish against bjp which was literally campaigning with cows on their posters.
modiās luster (an ass kissing media buffed one, no less) has lost its sheen rather quickly in the last six months. The voters gave him and his party a massive mandate about 18 months back and they completely fucked it up with petty politics and fueling hindustic jingoism.

The BJP is leading 48, LJP in two, RLSP two and HAM(S) one.
The final count is likely to be around 178-180 to 58-59 against bjp. I am kinda happy that bjp lost rather than the ‘grand allianceā won. Since modi was elected with a huge mandate about 18 months back, his party, instead concentrating on the governance issues they had campaigned on and won, back to its religious politics and incitement against muslims, christians and other minorities. There is plenty of internal bickering in his own party with many pissed off sidelined political heavyweights waiting for hi scalp. Though this was a state election, modi injected himself into the picture in a big way, he did over two dozen rallies in the state which no other PM has done before, and now the pundtwits are rightly claiming it is a clear cut mandate against him. This is a warning shot from the voters and hopefully he and his party wonāt go the extreme right, as they are wont to, taking a totally wrong message from the voters. Otherwise, they will be kicked out enmasse in the next election.
