Oh Chips thank you for being here for all of us. I don’t even want to think about where we would all be if you hadn’t started this community for all of us so we could express our love of this country and our exceptional President, First Family and all this administration. We all will be looking forward to 2016 as a year beyond measure. We will all be in awe of our great President.

Happy New Year’s to all of you lovely people. You really gave me strength and courage this year and I appreciate all of you very much. Thanks for all the wonderful pictures. They brought back wonderful memories. The one that means the most to me is the one of Senator Pinckney’s funeral. That was the last television my husband and I watched together. He was so thrilled to hear President Obama one more time. Also, when the choir sang “It is Well” he said “That is what I want at my funeral.” and my best friend sang it, with the entire gathering singing the chorus. That is a precious memory to me, and it solidified for him what would be sung a month later, his wish, his desire. I am doing better, I think, still missing him, but beginning to build a little.

Good 2016 to you, Carolyn, blessings to you and your family after your unfathomable loss this year (still 2015 in US time zones west of EST).

Endless admiration for your fortitude, and always enjoy hearing about the wonderful times you shared with your gracious husband.

My photo of the year vote was for the hug and kiss between President Obama and Vice President Biden at Beau’s memorial service. The Selma photograph represented iconic resolve, but to me the unabashed unity of the Executive Office that PBO and @VP demonstrate is a model for our democracy going forward.

      Happy New Year.

Chips…not sure what to add to the previous comments about this wonderful blog! Without this haven, I am not sure where I would be during this time of the Obama Presidency…so THANK YOU!

Stay safe everyone…we have another beautiful year to support our “lame duck” president! (BTW…funny that we do not hear that term anymore!)

Why on earth was I thinking I’d be able to stay awake until midnight?? HaHa! Powering down fast over here on the left coast, guess I’ll gauge midnight by NYC time zone! See y’all next year! Thank you, each and everyone, for all the Light, Love, Caring, Laughter and Wit - a most charming and gratifying place to have dwelt in 2015!! {{{{{ TOD }}}}}. For sure I would not have fared too well without the compassion and empathy so freely given here. <3

I don’t post much here, no one on the site really knows me, but I do read every single day. To say I am grateful for TOD is a bit like saying I love you to my grandsons-it never really translates because your heart is just too full for words,

I wrote a note to friends and family today-which includes TO~

Old Chinese Proverb~ “The way you do anything is the way you do everything”

No need for resolutions~ 2016 is really a continuation of our lives. Time moves on and with God’s grace, we move with it

Let Peace,Tolerance, Forgiveness, Redemption and Kindness with a healthy dose of laughter be our first and last thought of each day.
Change happens every day of our lives. We know because we met a man that changed our lives so profoundly we have come to realize it’s a daily walk we are fortunate to make-one year rolls into the next. We survived and thrived against voracious obstructionists odds. He epitomized peace, tolerance, forgiveness redemption, and undeniable kindness and kept humor as his sword.

Here’s to tomorrow and the next and next and next…maybe our President knew that old Chinese proverb from birth-“The way you do anything is the way you do everything”-and he did it just right-Obama style..

      Good 2016 to you, GAMP.

My thoughts exactly — my New Year’s resolution is to savor every moment of President Obama’s final (:( ) year in office, while eagerly anticipating how much good he will do for Americans once he leaves office. He and Michelle will demonstrate how much change/progress individual citizens can contribute to America and its democracy.

It’s 12:12 a.m. and I am filled with gratitude for this circle of kindness, smarts, humor, compassion, insight, wisdom, fun, and goodness, a circle of good inspiring people I am humbled and grateful to know and on whom I depend for light, knowledge, and spiritual tune-ups. Thank you Chips for this another year of TOD. Thank you everyone here, putting logs on the fire, bringing snacks, pointing out the constellations and passing out essential hugs and energy, with jokes. TOD is essential to my health and well being. May this year glow with blessings, on TOD and on our President, his family and everyone who stands with him. These photos have transformed my perspective on the year 2015. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to the TOD Ohana!

Still only 7:30 here, so just finished supper, listening to our neighbors’ kids firecrackers, and prepping my most resonant pots and pans for a big banging midnight! Our First Family is probably listening to the same sounds, and enjoying a warm, balmy evening by the ocean.

      Happy New Year, Susanne.

See @jonfavs tweet upthread (LOL). Maybe he’ll join the First Family in ringing in 2016. Warms my heart to think so — he was so instrumental to then-Senator Obama’s success during the 2007-08 campaign, and seems fitting for him to be part of the celebration leading into the final year of Barack Obama’s presidency.

We know that if it were possible, Barack Obama would have done everything himself during that iconic, historic, inspirational campaign, but that’s not humanly possible. Among his other talents, PBO has a keen knack for identifying real talent that is not dependent on Ivy League credentials (e.g., Jon Favreau, David Plouffe, Josh Earnest, etc.), appreciates and rewards true loyalty.

      • 64 susanne
        January 1, 2025 at 1:39 am

I feel certain there is a wonderful gathering of people who the first family feels entirely at home with, all joining in on celebrating this momentous presidency in its final year. I hadn’t noticed that tweet- thanks for bringing it to my attention, Arapaho! You’re right, PBO has changed the face of action in Washington, and the world will never be the same! Oh, how I wish this presidency could go on and on and on! But I know our first family is ready to move into their next chapter, and I have a strong feeling it will bring them back to Hawaii again and again :)
